  • Episode #130: Marcus Chan - Living the American Dream, Founder of Venli Consulting and LinkedIn Top Voice 2020
    Highlights:
    [4:30] Internal happiness
    [26:50] Power of process

    Meet Marcus Chan:
Marcus Chan is the Founder of Venli Consulting Group. He helps B2B sales professionals sell more and sell better without needing years of experience through his coaching and training programs. Marcus is an executive member on the Forbes Business Council, is a 2020 Top Voice on LinkedIn, and has been featured in Forbes, Yahoo! Finance, MarketWatch and NBC.

What I love about Marcus is that he is a literal example of the American dream. Born to immigrant parents, he grew up learning the value of hard work, perseverance and adaptability.

He put himself through college, and when he entered the corporate world, he started at the very bottom. Over the next 14+ years He worked his way up to being a top performer in two different fortune 500 companies, was promoted 10X in 10 years, won countless awards and was ranked in the top percentile of top performers every single year.

And for most of that time he was leading very large teams, and training hundreds of people each year.

But here is where it gets really exciting. He recently left corporate America to start his own business and is now on a mission to help one million people sell and earn 50-100% more than they are now.

Why this episode is important to you? Well, the fact is that we are all in the business of sales. We are constantly in the process of selling our ideas not only to our potential clients, but to our spouses, children, friends, and possibly most importantly of all, to ourselves.

Bottom line: understanding the art of selling is going to take you higher and get you there faster than almost any other skill.

So no matter where you are on your journey, if you are serious about taking your business and your life to the next level, this is the episode for you.

Described by Deepok Chopra as “A brilliant instruction manual on how to find purpose, build a career, and live a life of fulfillment for anyone aspiring to success in work and society.”

Now some people are very hard to do justice in an introduction and Jennifer is one such person.

How do you adequately describe someone who’s written an article for  Forbes that made their Greatest Hits list.
-Or who Developed their own self-education program that involved shadowing some of the top entrepreneurs and investors in Silicon Valley
    - Or DJ‘d for Red Bull, some of Chile’s largest nightclubs, and 1 of the top 10 black tie events in the world (according to David Letterman)

Or who had her First website featured in a major children’s magazine at age 12

Thanks to his second book, however, Work, Why? Diary of a Dreamer (The Anatomy of Greatness), which won a $10,000 award in 2002, he was able to secure shelter and continue pursuing his dream. Since then, he has become a prolific author and passionate speaker. In fact, he has published 33 books in the last 15 years, each of which examines themes of change, growth and greatness.

His latest book, "The New Being: Preparing for the Emergence of a New Humanity" (January 2021) is destined to change the cultural conversation concerning human nature and the human condition, disrupting also our systems and the assumptions that sanction them.

Its claim is simple: Each of us has the capacity for immensity, expansion and transformation.

What I love about Joel is that he is a walking billboard for the New Being he writes about. His capacity for expansion and transformation are truly unparalleled.

  • Episode #126: Tom Broxham - Networking Mastermind, Founder of the Broxham-Network
    Highlights:
    [8:55] Path finding
    [24:20] Necessary networking
    [41:04] Real listening and connection

    Meet Tom Broxham:

Tom is the founder of Broxham-Network.

His motto is today’s connection is tomorrow's opportunity. He is a public speaker, facilitator, avid outdoorsman, father and cheesecake lover!

Tom’s story is both chilling and deeply inspirational. At the age of 3, he drowned… and if it wasn’t for his dad performing CPR on him he wouldn’t be here today.

But that unfortunately was just the beginning... as bullies tried to drown him at the ages of 8 and again at 13.

Understandably, coming through these experiences his personal confidence and general sense of trust in the world were completely shattered.

Public speaking, swimming, and connecting with people were all skills he learnt as an adult. These were 3 of his biggest fears.

What I love about Tom is that his story is a true example of the hero’s journey. He could have easily shied away from facing his fears, but that’s not what he did. He chose to face them head on and eventually turned them all into passions.

He now dedicates his life to helping people overcome their fears: specifically in the areas of networking, making connections and building relationships and ultimately creating opportunities anywhere.

Let’s face it, creating the life we truly want means we are going to have to confront our fears and putting ourselves out there.  And that takes courage.

It also takes support, new skills and the ongoing inspiration that it can be done. And that is what Tom is all about.
