When the world is weighing heavy on us and heated topics are everywhere, from social media and news outlets to our family's dinner table, it can be challenging to manage our mental health and especially to deal with triggers as they arise. In today's episode, I'll go into what has helped me manage stress. I'll touch on:
As part of this episode, I also have a follow-up that is a guided meditation that you can use to help you relax. See episode 13 for that!

"Listen When" is a minisode series of sound bytes, of (what I hope will be) inspirational and motivational poetic mini-speeches set to music on things we all need to hear. Reach for these episodes when you need them. This one is for those of you who may be contemplating leaving a relationship, have already left the relationship, have been dumped, did the dumping. This one is for those of you who are feeling the weight of grief, no matter who it was that cut the string. This is for those of you who feel like there will never again be another. This is for those of you who feel heavy, lost, confused. This is for those of you who need a reminder from someone else who made it through.
Today's episode is a recap of my recent trip out to Oregon and the Pacific Coast for a nature/writing retreat and a subsequent roadtrip with Danielle Coffyn, @musingsonbeing. In this episode, I will:
breakdown what a Superbloom Society retreat is like
discuss the wonder of travel and the Oregon coast
highlight sights and cities along the Pacific Coast (Yachats, Coos Bay, Gold Beach, McKinnleyville, and the Redwoods)
share with you several of the poems I wrote on this trip
tell you where the BEST fish tacos in Oregon can be found
close out with my takeaways and perspective on spending time intentionally

Do you have a dream - some big goal, some vision, some incredible thing you feel called to in this life? Are you taking any baby steps to get there? What separates the you here, in this moment, from the you that is living your dream? In today's episode, I'm tackling these big questions and diving deep in the "why" of dreams - why they are so necessary; why we chase them; why they are the crux of whatever comes next for the future of humanity. Throughout this episode, I'll touch on:
There is something inherently magical about travel – what it does, how it moves us, the way it inspires and changes us. On today’s episode, I wrap up my St. George solo travelogue series with some closing thoughts on travel and why I find it so necessary. I also discuss some of the things I did on my last days in St. George and where I went. If you need a little escape from your day or are just curious about this little sleepy beach town in Florida, join me for this relaxing yet intriguing episode!
Have you been struggling to rest? Not just to carve out the time for it but to mentally allow yourself to even get to this place where you can put down the armful of things you're carrying and turn some of that love and care towards yourself? As a society, we are bombarded with this idea that rest is lazy or unimportant or that we must constantly be doing something "productive." We put rest (ie. ourselves) at the bottom of these towering to-do lists and then we wonder why we feel so burned out all the time.Today's episode tackles this idea, as told from day 2 of my Florida travel adventures. In this one, I will touch on:
Let's face it: being human IS HARD. Like, really, really hard. We all struggle and when we're in the thick of it, we want just some respite, some way to weather those storms and know we're gonna be ok. Spoiler alert: you will. If you're having a hard time right now, press play on this one.I recently took a long solo weekend trip to the gulf coast of Florida in the pursuit of rest, as a way to weather the storm life has thrown me lately of just being human with the place I'm in. The next handful of episodes will be travelogue-style, filled with musings and lessons I was able to gather as part of my R&R, of this process of escaping into myself in a new place.Today's episode will cover:
Sometimes when we reach a crossroads in life, we're hit with several things all at once and can so easily become overwhelmed. There is a grieving process. We have to learn to let go of what we had, what we used to know, who we were, in order to make space for the new.
With healing, we continue to go back to gather ourselves, each time picking up the pieces and learning how to keep those safe, without holding on too tight to what they once meant, what they once signified. It is this gathering process that allows us to make space. That internal letting go eventually finds its way into the physical and before long, we're on the move.
This week, I return after a long hiatus to explain where I've been: moving homes and moving lives. I discuss how to navigate life's big changes and what moving had in store for me, including the MANY mishaps that happened in the first two days.

Ink Speak: A Podcast for Storytellers, Dreamers & Seekers
Have you ever felt like there’s more to life than what you’re living? I did too, until I set fire to the life I…
I’m Maverick Malone (@mavmalone)—author, poet, and spoken word artist—and this podcast is a space for everyone. Most podcasts teach, interview, or perform, but this one just lives. It's a podcast you step into.
Ink Speak is where personal storytelling meets poetry, magic, and the raw human experience. Each episode feels like sitting down together in real time. Sometimes I’m in my backyard, sometimes I’m traveling, sometimes I’m in the middle of something I don’t fully understand yet. But wherever I am, you’re right there with me.
Every episode begins with a poem or spoken word piece that sets the tone, then unfolds into raw, unfiltered storytelling—about love, loss, transformation, spirituality, and the in-between moments most people don’t share. This is a space for thinking differently, seeing your life from a new angle, and feeling a little less alone while you do.
Whether it's navigating change, learning to trust the unknown, finding magic in the mundane or actively creating it, Ink Speak reminds us what it means to be human: messy, poetic, and infinitely powerful.
If you’ve ever wanted something that feels more like connection than content—welcome. Come sit for a while.
