April 5, Happy Holidays and hope you all enjoyed the weekend. It was a great opportunity to see the new creature rampage flick Godzilla vs Kong! After my first viewing I had questions about the plot but what I really started to question was how the progression of the characters would continue from this film? It got me thinking, when you take two or more powerhouses and remove the animosity amongst them and cause them to become teammates, does the quality of the story telling take a hit?
Nobuo Uematsu, Nujabes, Bruno Mars. What do they all have in common? They are all Asian music composers. Why is only one of the three being canceled? What is it about cancel culture that allows it to decide who and who is receiving the brunt of backlash. When there are so many similar situations or use of the displeasure?
Condolences go out to the family and friends of the victims of the Atlanta murders this past week. Why is it so hard to get our law enforcement agencies to act upon hate crimes? Why do we enable poor mental health, fail to see the wolves in sheep's clothing. The Asian community is just another victim of American prejudice and at what reason and cost?
This week we will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day! Don't drink all your stimulus money in one place! But today we cover the the Drunken Masters of real life and fiction, Jackie Chan, Brad Wong, Stone Cold Steve Austin and more. Are these drunken savants truly masterful legends or are they overrated gimmicks?
For me it's been the anniversary of life with Covid-19 and my entire life changed because of it. Globally we had to alter our life styles as well and have shown that behaviors are adaptable. So why is it so hard to deal with the ignorant behaviors that ostracize so many black people? This episode is airing March 8, International Women's Day, and it was five days after we observed the appreciation of women that Breonna Taylor had none. She was murder, her rights violated, and justice has still has not be delivered.
It's March 1st 2021! Episode 5 takes on the subject of the return of Bobby Shmurda from his prison stint. Why is his return celebrated? Why does a come back story hit differently than a Cinderella story? The host can name just a few instances to explain why.
When you think of Michael Jackson's song They Don't Really Care About Us what do you hear? Can you recite the lyrics? Do you know what they mean? Are we so deaf to the tones of our community that we won't be able to raise the youth to be better than us? When we will or don't face our demons how does it affect our art community? We stand with before Judas handing him his rope, even though man we condemn was nothing more than an actor.
This week in light of recent events we have a shorter episode. No matter any topic can be revisited in a deeper study. But have we been cut short once again by this Hollywood dramatization that effects our everyday lives? When did truth and justice become pandering and pettiness? Why do we the people have the system set so that we are set to fail. On the B side, when you reverse their tactics how will they take it? All Lives Matter isn't being used right so how can we appropriate it to a better cause? Would you agree? The delves into the complexities of racism within the NFL predominately within his hometown's organization of Philadelphia. Are the Eagles plagued by prejudice or pettiness? Black History Month means that focus will be brought to the attention of Black achievements. Yet what has the host life gaming left upon him? Where have popular video game series made him feel representation has fallen short or raised the bar? Listen in to the first episode of Inkredible Canvas your Monday digest to make it just less mundane.
