Are DMT entities actually real? Science officially cares enough to start performing experiments to find out. In this episode us bros dive into the paper entitled "Traces of the Other: DMT Phenomenology in the Framework of Conscious Realism" by leading DMT and Conscious Realism Scientists Dr. Andrew Gallimore (@AlienInsect), Dr. Donald Hoffman, and Dr. Niffe Hermansson. Dr. Hanania goes hard in describing different theories of reality and in guiding us through this paper which focuses on how the theory of conscious realism fits in attempting to explain how we realistically could be accessing other entities (aka "conscious agents") during DMT trips, and the two of us discuss these implications. We also cover what experiments they are planning on doing on the "other side" while people are tripping to prove the existence of these entities as autonomous conscious agents and not just as a trippy figment of our imagination.
In this episode of Inner and Outer Worlds, Jordan reflects on a wholesome weekend at the beautiful 2026 InnerSpace Retreat, hosted by our friends Days of Lavender Music. This weekend was full of sound baths, yoga, meditation, delicious health food and various musical acts performed throughout the weekend by Days of Lavender , Forrest Mortifee, Navin Sahj Paul , and more.
The bros also reflect on how revitalizing the 2025 InnerSpace Retreat was last year, and get into the concept of retreats and how needed wholesome experiences are in adulthood. Maybe, just maybe, they'll plant a seed in your brain for you to go check one out some day - Kool-aid not required.
In part 2 of our state-change mini-series, Z&J dive deep into how the things we focus on, the language we use to assign meanings to events, and the self-talk we have with ourselves forms an identity - and how focus, meanings and self-talk has the ability to energize us or deplete us.In the episode, we get into a study done by Stanford University on Tony Robbins events and how the formula of State Change, Story Change, then Strategy Change can create lasting change due to neuroplasticity, especially when it comes to depression and anxiety. We discuss how certain types of meditations, plant medicines/psychedelics, learning new things, exercise and deep sleep also create the perfect condition for neuroplasticity (aka change in our lives!)It is through Exercise, Learning, Deep Sleep, Psychedelic Therapy, and certain meditative practices that we can enter a state of neuroplasticity, and when we follow this state with the right Focus, Self-Talk, and Assigned Meanings to Events, we can far more easily and permanently make lasting change in our lives, to overcome depression, anxiety, bad habits, addictions, or phobias.Join us as we get into the exciting concept of changing ourselves! Change is always possible. It just requires neuroplastic states of mind to be entered first (through physiological changes), and THEN followed up by telling new, more beneficial stories, assigning better meanings, and focusing on the right things. When we follow this, suddenly, change isn't so hard. Suddenly, discipline is easy.Resources:Stanford University Study of Tony Robbins' Date with Destiny Events:https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022395622001157The above study summarized:https://scienceoftonyrobbins.com/Dr. K Interview on Huberman Lab Podcasthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9G2MRFs4vac&time_continue=2&source_ve_path=NzY3NTg&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2F&embeds_referring_origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com
To kick off our ongoing series on the brain, Dr. Jordan and I are starting off with 2 episodes on changing our energetic state. Our state can be defined as the snapshot of our physiology and psychology in any given moment, based on the exact neurons firing in the brain at that moment. Our state determines the amount of energy we have in that given moment, and with heightened energy we can show up to everything important in life better, from relationships, to career/life's work, to hobbies. In this episode, we discuss 5 ways to increase the physiological portion of our state, to give us a heightened sense of energy: exercise, music, posture, radical changes in our physiology (like cold plunges or breathwork), and diet/nutrition.These physiological changes profoundly impact our psychology as well, thanks to the neurotransmitters they release while performing them, and the neuroplasticity (changeability) they allow in our brain during and after the time we are physically active.Managing our state goes beyond just physiological changes though: our focus and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what events mean, and what type of world we live in deeply impact our energetic state, so in the next episode, we will dive into focus and stories and how these energize or deplete us.Lasting change is the result of first changing our physiological state so our brains can enter a state of neuroplasticity (changeability), and then choosing better focus and stories/meanings that energize us so we can show up for everything in life better.

Vitamin E in leafy greens like lettuce, cabbage, kale, and spinach neutralize free radicals in the brain, preventing them from causing a chain reaction of atoms/molecules stealing electrons from one another and leaving portions of our brain not functioning properly due to the instability this causes. #science #brain #health

While part 1 (Episode 9) of our Integration Series covered why integration is important and why we become fragmented from our true selves, this part 2 (Episode 10) gets into the nitty gritty of what our shadow self is, what shadow work (shadow integration) is, what dark and light polarity are in the universe and within ourselves, how excess hijacks our dopamine systems and creates a feedback loop of a desire for more consumption (leading to addiction), and why having an integrated and healthy balance of our dark and light sides is essential for living a fulfilling life of integrity. It's about accepting and loving all parts of ourselves like they are a family, so they don't feel neglected and act out, and so we can remain in integrity with our values and the people we care about.
