  • Innocents Torn's Band Chat Ep.60 with Special Guest Colin Peterick

On Episode 60 of Innocents Torn’s Band Chat, Bonny Freimuth sits down with singer, songwriter, musician and producer Colin Peterik for a conversation that goes way beyond the usual interview.

Colin talks about his recent signing with BraveWords Records and what drew him to a label that has built a roster filled with legendary names — and why having the right people behind the music still matters.

We dig into Colin’s own musical journey, growing up with a father who happens to be rock icon and Grammy-winning songwriter Jim Peterik, and how that influenced — but didn’t define — his decision to pursue his own path in music.

Colin also takes us behind the board and into his work as a producer. How do you help shape another artist’s sound without replacing their identity with your own? Where does the producer end and the artist begin? We get into the creative process, collaboration, and what it takes to help an artist find the best version of what they’re trying to create.

Plus, Colin gives us a look at what’s ahead, including new music, an upcoming single and the album he’s preparing for 2027.

It’s music, family, creativity, production, the business behind the songs and the road still ahead.

  • INNOCENTS TORN’S BAND CHAT – EP. 59 | PHIL SOUSSAN

INNOCENTS TORN’S BAND CHAT – EP. 59 | PHIL SOUSSAN

From Jimmy Page to Ozzy Osbourne. From Vince Neil to William Shatner. Phil Soussan has lived a rock & roll story most musicians could only dream about.

    But here’s the thing...

Behind that absolutely insane résumé is one of the most down-to-earth, charismatic and genuinely fascinating people we’ve ever had the privilege of sitting down with.

In Episode 59 of Innocents Torn’s Band Chat, Bonny Freimuth and James Freimuth welcome legendary bassist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Phil Soussan for a conversation that goes far beyond the usual rock-star interview.

Phil’s career has crossed generations of rock history. He rehearsed and played with Jimmy Page during the period that ultimately led toward The Firm before choosing another opportunity that had just landed in his lap: joining Ozzy Osbourne.

That decision put Phil on Ozzy’s The Ultimate Sin, where he also brought in the song that became one of the defining tracks of the era: “Shot in the Dark.” His career would go on to include work with artists including Billy Idol, Vince Neil, Steve Lukather, John Waite, Edgar Winter, Last in Line and many more.

And somehow, in 2026, the story got even crazier.

Phil is currently playing bass alongside William Shatner in Shatner’s new heavy-metal project, *The uckers, which made its live debut this month—including a performance at Riot Fest. Yes. Captain Kirk went metal. And Phil Soussan is holding down the low end. 🤘

    🚀 COSMO FIGHTER PART ONE — NOVEMBER 13, 2026

Now Phil is stepping back into the spotlight with his own music.

Cosmo Fighter Part One arrives through BraveWords Records on November 13, 2026, beginning an ambitious trilogy of three EPs. With only a few guest appearances, the project was written, performed, produced and mixed by Phil himself. Part One features four tracks: “Fading Out,” “The More You Take,” “Fallen From Grace,” and “Please Don’t Make Me Wait,” with Richie Kotzen contributing the guitar solos on the latter.

The first single, “Fading Out,” is available now, and anyone who pre-orders the EP through Bandcamp receives an immediate download of the track.

    🔥 FREE LISTENING PARTY — NOVEMBER 11

We were genuinely honored to have the opportunity to sit down with Phil. With a career this massive, it would be easy to spend an entire interview talking about platinum records, legendary musicians and historic tours. Instead, we also got to meet the man behind all of it—and discovered someone funny, thoughtful, incredibly personable and refreshingly down to earth.

    And we're not done yet.

Cody Perez Is Speaking Out — It’s Time to Talk | Band Chat Ep. 58

Watch the full episode on YouTube: Innocents Torn's Band Chat | Ep. 58 with Special Guest Cody Perez | Amerakin Overdose

What happens when one artist decides enough is enough?

This week on Innocents Torn’s Band Chat Episode 58, Bonny Freimuth sits down with Cody Perez of Amerakin Overdose for a conversation that goes far beyond music.

A growing conversation within the music community has put a spotlight on something working artists know all too well: bands play the shows, fulfill their obligations, and expect the agreements made with them to be honored.

Cody Perez decided to speak up.

And when he did, something bigger started happening.

Other artists began talking. Musicians started comparing experiences. Conversations that often happen privately began happening openly—and suddenly, people throughout the community were asking questions.

This week, we’re spilling the tea.

Cody joins us to talk about why he chose to take a stand, what sparked this viral conversation, what has happened since, and why communication between artists may be one of the most powerful tools the independent music community has.

Because sometimes doing the next right thing means being the person willing to say something first.

Cody Perez may be a hero without a cape… but he DOES have stage makeup.

    🔥 IN THIS EPISODE:

    • Cody Perez and the conversation currently making waves
    • Bands, contracts and artist compensation
    • Why Cody decided to speak publicly
    • What happened when other musicians started communicating
    • Accountability within the music community
    • The importance of artists comparing notes and supporting one another
    • What independent bands can learn from this conversation
    • And yes… we're spilling some fucking tea.

  • Innocents Torn's Band Chat Ep. 39 w/ Special Guest Dug Cox

Welcome to another rocking night behind the stage doors! This is Band Chat. the show that brings the green room into your living room every Friday night. Tonight, we are going a little more rustic and sitting down with Dug Cox. A Washington State artist with no hold bar. Growing up on rock and roll, blues and the music scene as it was, we all eventually decide to take our own paths. This country singer is no different than any metal head I've ever met. While he grew up on the same music as the rest of our Gen X alumni, Dug has taken his music to different heights. You'll find so many solidarities in all artists if you can see past what kind of music they play. Dug is a delight to speak with, we had such a good time we almost had to do a third recording. He has a firm grip on the reigns and its clear he is sights, he is going rogue and we love his style. But did we mention he is mostly blind, yeah...didn't see that coming did ya?!!! Nothing will stop this man from making his dreams come true!
Check out all of his links below, please go follow, like and subscribe and help support this talented and very personable artist, go get cowboy UP on his pages~ You'll thank us later! Thank you Dug for the killer friendship and best of luck with the rodeo in the future~
