Living in Response

Innovation as an Un-boring Way of Healing the World & Ourselves

Listen Later

Day 17 of Living in Response is about something new-ish in my field - innovation, which in essence begins with, “there has to be a (better)” way.

Thanks for joining me on this raw, unedited, unfiltered, uncaged, unbounded exploration into undocking the ship without knowing where I’m going.

Topics Covered in This Episode:

Summarized with AI

1️⃣ The Creative Process & Showing Up Consistently

* Some days feel like an explosion of expression, others don’t.

* Learning to separate thoughts from feelings—just because my mind says “I have nothing to say” doesn’t mean that’s true. THISSSSSSSSSS

* The act of recording without expectation builds a muscle of self-expression.

* Creativity isn’t on or off; it’s always present—it just needs space to flow.

2️⃣ Resistance as a Creative Portal

* Resistance used to stop me—now I recognize it as part of the process.

* Instead of validating the voice that says “I have nothing to say,” I sit with it and create anyway.

* Giving the resistant parts of me “something to do” (e.g., imagining them coloring, watching a movie) allows the creative part to step forward.

* Every time I push through resistance, I end up creating more than I expected—sometimes recording a full hour.

3️⃣ Launching the Podcast on YouTube

* Initially, I wasn’t thinking about YouTube—just naturally found myself setting it up without overthinking.

* Decided to keep it unedited, unfiltered, and unbounded—real, raw, and in the moment.

* Letting go of perfectionism:

* No need for hair, makeup, or a production setup—I want to show up as I am.

* Authenticity is a core value—if I have to change how I present myself just to record, it doesn’t feel like me.

4️⃣ “There Has to Be a Better Way” – The Theme of Innovation

* This phrase keeps repeating in my mind—applies to:

* Personal growth & healing – How can we make healing faster, more effective, and accessible?

* The world at large – The current systems (government, healthcare, environment) clearly aren’t working.

* Creativity & work – How can we move beyond traditional expectations and create new ways of working and expressing?

* Innovation isn’t about starting from scratch—it’s about seeing what already exists and finding a better way.

5️⃣ Healing & the Future of Mental Health

* Traditional talk therapy helped but was too slow and limited.

* Psychedelic therapies, energy work, and somatic practices offer faster, deeper transformation.

* Experiencing resistance in the body can be resolved through:

* EFT tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique).

* Cannabis-assisted emotional release.

* Somatic-based healing rather than just talking.

* Healing is a portal to creativity, clarity, and meaning—once we clear the weight of past wounds, new possibilities open up.

6️⃣ The Role of Community & Collective Change

* We are a collective species—we need connection, but modern culture has made us competitive and isolated.

* More people need to step into innovation, share their ideas, and challenge old paradigms.

* Fear of not being “enough” or “qualified” is a lie—these doubts are conditioned but not true.

* If something feels alive in your heart, that’s a sign it’s meant to be explored.

7️⃣ Visionary Thinking & Following the Natural Path

* Attended a Visionary Mindset Workshop—reinforced the power of clarity in innovation.

* Instead of forcing a rigid plan, I trust in the unfolding process—following what feels alive and natural.

* The vision is forming as I go—I don’t need to know the full picture yet.

* Life is always asking something of us—our job is to listen and respond.

Mentions & Resources

not affiliated, just a fan

* The visionary I mentioned in the podcast is Yukino Nagasawa

* In hindsight, I should *not* have mentioned that she attended the workshop because that’s super personal and I won’t be doing that again, however I did reach out to her and she gave me permission to post this episode <3

* The organization I did my visionary workshop with (who is offering another soon BTW!!!) is Kinesthesia

* The other organization I mentioned that introduced me to psychedelic cannabis is Holistic Therapeutix

Next Steps & Reflection Prompts:

AI may have generated these for me, but I ~*genuinely*~ want to know!

🔹 What is something you feel resistance toward that might actually be calling you forward?🔹 Where do you find yourself saying, "There has to be a better way"?🔹 How can you practice self-expression today, without expectation or pressure?

I hope you have a beautiful time of day wherever you are and that you feel the love that you are <3

Belle
