In this episode, Rachael Barham, Digital Transformation Programme Manager, for Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria (HI NENC), leads a conversation with Jenny Foster, Network Manager for the Children and Young People’s North East and North Cumbria Diabetes Network, and Grace Murray, Digital Midwife, for South Tees NHS Foundation Trust, about their collaborative work on digital inclusion initiatives that have supported more than 400 families and pregnant people, to ensure that patients are supported in accessing a range of digital health technologies.
HI NENC is committed to making digital health and care accessible to everyone. Our work focuses on two key areas:
Digital Inclusion Forum – A collaborative space bringing together partners from health, care, and the voluntary sector to share learning, identify challenges, and co-design solutions that make digital access more equitable.
Widening access to health through digital inclusion projects – A practical initiative that supports people at risk of digital exclusion by gifting digital devices (such as smartphones and tablets). Alongside the devices, patients are given support and training, to help them engage with health services and stay connected to care.
