Known as the "father of the Internet in Japan," Jun Murai is a professor of computer science. Professor Murai received his doctorate from Keio University in 1987. During his research, he developed Japan's first-ever inter-university network.

For Professor Murai’s many contributions to the Internet Protocol, he was inducted into the 2013 Internet Hall of Fame.

Born in 1978 in Taipei City, Arthur Huang moved to the US at age 12. He is a structural engineer and architect, focusing on sustainable architecture. In 2005, Arthur established MINIWIZ. Five years later, he and his team designed the EcoARK pavilion in Taipei, a massive structure built from 1.5 million recycled plastic bottles.

Arthur’s innovative ideas won him several awards and set a new bar for future buildings and consumer products! As reducing our carbon footprint is a critical task in this day and age, let us hear Arthur's creative thoughts about the unlimited potential of trash!

Cyrus Chu is a distinguished Taiwanese economist. He received his Ph.D. in economics in 1985 from the University of Michigan and was elected as an Academician of Academia Sinica, Taiwan's most prestigious academic institution, in 1998. He has now still been the youngest one ever.

He went on to become Taiwan's Minister of the National Science Council (2012-2014) and Ambassador to the WTO (2016-2019). In 2015, Chu joined the World Inequality Database team of French economist Thomas Piketty.

Scholar or diplomat, Chu knows his stuff. In this episode, he shares many innovative examples in his work and research. He also talks about his observation of the US-China trade conflict. Let us hear his thoughts on the importance of knowledge and innovation!
