Marc Johnson has been playing with sound and music since he was a child and started releasing his own music in 2004. Since then he has been a prominent artist and provocateur on the Danish hiphop stage collaborating with artists such as L.O.C., USO and Kato. Johnson isn’t afraid of speaking his mind and sees music, and hiphop especially, as a way of taking a stand and expressing himself. As a well-known artist on the Danish hiphop stage it seemed almost inevitable that Johnson was to host this year’s Dynaudio Unheard Session. Dynaudio met Johnson for a talk about his own career and his views on music and the industry.

She released her first single ‘Battle Royale’ in 2015, since then Ecca Vandal has been an artist to watch on the contemporary punk and heavy rock scene. Ecca was born in South Africa to Sri Lankan parents, but grew up in Melbourne, Australia due to refugee crisis and apartheid. Her cultural heritage shaped her approach to music which contains genres such as jazz, punk and hiphop mixed with a raw and immediate gut reaction to creation. Dynaudio met Ecca Vandal at Smukfest for a talk about her music and how it comes to place.

What does football and music have in common? And how do you adapt to a foreign country as a 10-year-old? Peter Naumann or ELO experienced it all since he moved to Denmark from Zambia as a young child with his mother and brothers. ELO released his first single ‘Illuminate’ in 2016 and has been working on his music since then, taking care of both writing, producing and the business of music. Dynaudio met ELO at Smukfest for a talk about his passion for hiphop, his cultural background and the difficult task of breaking through.

Gallows, Pure Love and the Rattlesnakes. Frank Carter has been making several imprints on the british punk rock scene since 2005, despite the fact that he only just turned 34. Frank Carter lives and breathes his music and has a reactive approach to life, which makes him reckless on stage and an inexhaustible creative force in the studio. Dynaudio met Frank Carter before his show with the Rattlesnakes at this year’s Smukfest for a reflection about his career and how he keeps reinventing himself.

René Rønning is almost synonymous with Dynaudio and car audio. He’s always on the lookout for new gadgets and technology, making sure that he is two steps ahead of everyone, to see if it somehow can be implemented in Dynaudio’s work. Sci-fi films and Kickstarter campaigns are just some of his tricks to see into the future.
