On the 10th of December, the CMA approved OVO's deal to take over SSE's domestic customer base.  This means that OVO energy will be the second-largest energy supplier in the UK.  Here are my quick thoughts on the incredible OVO / SSE deal!

Zankhna’s background is in environmental policy, having worked at Ofgem, leading on the RdSAP ECO Scoring model for Ofgem.  I have personally worked with Zankhna on various aspects of ECO  and she seemed the ideal person to ask about BEIS’ ECO 3 Consultation.

Amongst other things, we discuss the changes out of the latest ECO 3 consultation from BEIS, PAS2035 and Trust Mark, Installer Accreditation and the major changes in ECO.

In today's episode I talk to Andrew Medhurst. I came across Andrew via his Linkedin post where he explains that he has recently resigned from the City after 30 years to work on Climate Change. 

In Andrew's words;  "I share the view of an increasing number of quite sane and rational academics/scientists who believe we face inevitable near-term social collapse due to climate change ( I prefer to call it climate breakdown)". Andrew goes on to explain that "Many news stories  (The Syrian civil war, Africans drowing in the Mediterranean and Trump's Mexican border wall) aren't presented as climate stories but climate change is a root cause."

After reading this post I wanted to find out more, so in this Pod Andrew explains his views and concerns, he explains all about Extinction rebellion (Extinction.earth) and we talk about Dr Jem Bendell's reports on climate change (https://jembendell.wordpress.com/).

Recently Deltra Consulting asked me a few questions about the state of the market. They will publish this interview later this week on their blog. In this episode I answer their questions about the current energy market, future trends and advice for smaller suppliers in 2019.

I've been very interested to see what is actually happening (or isn't)  in ECO 3. I am particularly interested in a view from the front line of ECO Delivery. Kevin Sanders is a lead canvasser for suppliers and installers, so he is the best person to show what is happening at this front line.
