Currently both students at Florida State University, Gabriel and Samantha decided to start creating and selling quality, hand-made rugs as an idea for a college entrepreneurship project. With the help of YouTube and TikTok, the pair was able to teach themselves how to tuft rugs and obtain the required materials to start a rug-making business, and today they have grown significantly in terms of company goals and sales. With a large selection of products specializing in custom floor and mug rugs, Gabriel and Samantha have established a strong reputation for their company at the young ages of 20 and 19. In this episode of Gas Money Mentions, Robert and Austin host Ethan Bodtker, who is a partner/owner of EcoShield Pest Solutions in the Detroit, MI, and Philadelphia, PA regions. In 2017, Ethan left his personal training job to sell pest control door to door. During his first summer as a sales rep with Ecoshield, he earned $22k, and although he fell short of his goals in his first year, he had a strong motivation to perform better with each coming year. Now, in 2022, 5 years after his first summer, Ethan is leading a highly motivated sales team which is expected to do $30 million in revenue this year. "Your success will never outgrow your character." - Ethan Bodtker

In this episode of Gas Money Mentions, Robert and Austin host Dawson Carpenter, who is the founder and owner of Icon Detailers LLC in Fenton, Michigan. Over the past two years, Dawson has transformed his car detailing business from a very basic side hustle to a well-developed detailing company that specializes in interior/exterior detailing, paint enhancement, ceramic and paint protection film (PPF) coating, and vinyl wrapping. In addition to detailing the standard array of family SUVs and daily drivers, Icon Detailers also accommodates high-end vehicles that require specialized care and expertise. 

At the young age of 22, Dawson has learned many lessons along his journey with his startup. After struggling with addiction and bouncing between jobs just out of high school, he used these setbacks as a wake up call to transform his mindset and reshape his life goals. In addition to describing the importance of manifestation and passion, Dawson explains the dangers of becoming too comfortable with an unproductive lifestyle and highlights the opportunity for success without needing a college degree. In this inspiring episode, Dawson proves that even the largest mistakes can lead to the greatest successes as long as they are learned from.

In their first motivational speech, Gas Money co-founders Austin Pariseau and Robert Walker return to the high school they graduated from, Davison High School, to cover five important lessons that have helped them on their journey with Gas Money. Having graduated from DHS in 2019 and 2020, respectively, Austin and Robert were thrilled to speak to their former teachers and peers to offer advice that can apply to any career or lifestyle. After learning these lessons through their development of Gas Money LLC, Austin and Robert believe they are essential for all young adults to learn from and understand, and they plan to continue doing speeches like this one to help as many young adults as possible. 

The five lessons covered in this speech include: 

1. Don't be afraid to ask for help. 

2. Do what you're passionate about. 

3. Think and be different. 

4. Failure is a part of success. 

5. Your mindset determines your future. 

Austin and Robert want to use Gas Money as a platform to empower and educate young adults, and their goal is to begin doing more motivational speeches such as this one in high schools and colleges around the country. As long as they can positively impact at least one young adult who listens to their advice, their mission has been accomplished.

In this episode of Gas Money Mentions, Robert and Austin host Carter Holmes, Founder and Owner of Flipsity. Flipsity is a location-based social app that allows its users to post photos or captions that stay active for 24 hours. Carter went to high school with Robert and Austin (Davison High School, MI), and although they knew of each other in high school, they never really got to know one another. Gas Money is a platform that enables clients to find and hire young adults in their area for the completion of home- and yard-based services. These services include jobs such as lawn mowing, landscaping, and car washing, to name a few, but our goal is to eventually accommodate any service that can be completed by a high school or college student. Unlike other gig-based platforms, Gas Money is fully student-led, and all contractors that offer services on the Gas Money App are 16-24 years old. Gas Money contractors can create their own schedules and communicate directly with clients through the app, and they also have the ability to collaborate with other contractors in their area. The Gas Money App is completely free to use, and it generates revenue on a commission-based model from completed jobs. Our mission is to provide young adults with the opportunity to become their own boss and develop real-world skills in communication, leadership, and accountability. Gas Money is more than just a service platform: we are the workforce of the future.
