  • 5/3 Lax Beat: SheBox in Prague
Five teams competed at the first women's edition of the annual European Box Lacrosse Invitational. The event is commonly called EBox, so the women's version has taken the nickname SheBox. The tournament was the first opportunity for women in Europe to play box lacrosse, which will have a women's world championship for the first time in 2024. This week on LaxBeat, host Stephen Stamp has conversations with five participants in the inaugural SheBox, which was universally acclaimed as a huge success.
    • Lizzie Bottrill is from England, where she has been part of the national development field lacrosse team, and was one of three English women to play for Prague Sports at SheBox.
    • Becky Moloney has been a goalie for Ireland's field team and is a driver of the sport in the nation. She played between the pipes for Team Eire, which was coached by Bellingham, Wash., native and Prague resident Garrett Goshorn at the tournament.
    • Mac MacDonough and Delaney Benson both grew up in California and have both been living in Israel, where they put enormous time and energy into coaching lacrosse. They'll both be representing Israel at World Lacrosse championship this summer.
    • The five guests have diverse backgrounds, but they all agree that SheBox was a huge first step for lacrosse in Europe and was a seminal moment in the growth of the women's box game.

    • 5/2 The Tailgate: RIP ACC?
The regular season is all but over — we're onto conference tournaments (aside from Duke-Notre Dame). Did this weekend's results ensure that only two (at most) ACC teams can make the NCAA Tournament? Terry and Nick start by discussing Yale's OT win vs. Harvard — one of the most entertaining games of the year — and Cornell's win over Princeton before transitioning to Notre Dame's one-sided win over Syracuse (continuing a trend) and touch on SoCon and Patriot League Madness.

    • 4/29 D-Fly & Dixie: Celebration of Life with BU's Ryan Polley
Can you believe it? How did the regular season go by so fast? D-Fly and Dixie are here to get you pumped for the final weekend of the regular season which includes pivotal games up and down the college lacrosse landscape.

But first the guys recount a sad weekend that saw the demise of Hopkins Lacrosse and the passing of legend Richie Moran. They discuss both topics, and then bring in writer, IL contributor and friend Christian Swezey to talk about Coach Moran’s legacy. Swezey is the author of a new book, “We Showed Baltimore: the Lacrosse Revolution of the 1970s and Richie Moran’s Big Red.”

One of the key games this week features Army West Point and Boston University, and Mark had a chance to talk to Terriers’ head coach, Ryan Polley. In the interview they discuss the success of this year’s Terriers, spring boarding out of the tough 2021 pandemic season, the leadership of the senior class, coaching lacrosse at a “hockey school,” the Patriot League gauntlet, and of course, T Anthony’s.
