Darcey Lingley has spent 10 years building Formula E's premium hospitality experience, the Emotion Club, an open-plan space designed to get thought leaders, celebrities, teams and partners actually talking to each other rather than sitting behind closed doors. In this episode, Darcey walks us through what goes into curating that experience end-to-end: from a culinary island with a local sushi partner, to brand ambassadors who know every VIP by name, to a soon-to-launch e-commerce platform for guest bookings and even facial-recognition entry as a wish-list item for the future. It's a look at how Formula E turns hospitality into an extension of its brand, and of the cities it races in, one detail at a time. Episode recorded in February 2025.
Agus Delicado is Formula E's VP of Race Operations, but 11 years ago he was a trumpet teacher who'd just applied for a job at an ice cream factory and ended up designing racetracks for a brand new championship instead. Starting as a junior track and overlay coordinator in Formula E's very first season, he helped build the discipline from a scrappy 10-race debut into a global sport, working street-by-street with cities like Paris and Jeddah to shut down roads with minimal disruption, and adapting circuits for every new generation of race car, including this year's Gen3 Evo, now the fastest-accelerating race car on the planet. In this episode, Agus takes us through eleven years of Formula E's evolution: the diplomacy of racing through city centres, the culture of a startup-turned-global-championship, and what actually keeps him up the night before a race.
