Early in Deb's career she saw an opportunity she just couldn't pass up when the AT&T monopoly was disbanded. She was one of the very first women to open a telecommunications company. Faced with extreme trials and with pure grit, Deb's determination pushed through head on earning her the right to be a fierce competitor in a heavily male dominated industry.

A career long mission of Deb's and one of the company's core values is an allegiance to women in business and technology. She continues to apply her personal philosophy of "Paying It Forward" by dedicating substantial resources to various telecom-related organizations. She was the first Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of INCOMPAS for 5+ years (the industry's largest lobbying association, formerly known as Comptel) President-Elect and Board Member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO); Board Member of Women's Business Enterprise Council South (WBE South).

What does an inspiration trailblazer like Deb do during her free time? Deb can be found at Twin Oaks Guest Ranch, the second business she owns with her husband, Cowboy. Twin Oaks Guest Ranch is located just outside of Nashville. This is a vision that was created to share with everyone and has become the perfect vacation spot for hundreds of returning guests each year. Well, Eva was born and reared in the Californian city of Los Angeles and she's a woman with many powerful traits. Let's get to know her:

Eva earned her bachelor's degree from California State University, Northridge, then went on to pursue graduate degrees in business and entrepreneurship at other universities. In 2012, she and her husband relocated to Nashville and in 2013, Eva received her Brokers license and established Solace Oral Surgery. She is currently the Broker/Owner of Evaco properties, as well as the co-owner of Solace Oral Surgery and Solace Mobile Oral Surgery.

Eva began her career in education at a young age and went on to teach for many years at Los Angeles' inner-city high schools. She was a business development instructor who also taught a variety of other subjects. She's also an active individual in her community and has dedicated the majority of her life to service through leadership - as an educator, mentor, and philanthropist in her career and is involved with many non-profit organizations.

Today, Eva is the president of the HDSA TN Chapter and serves on the boards of the American Red Cross, TLACC, The Vintage Affair, OneGen Away, HOLA, and ELLA. Also, her business philosophy emphasizes the importance of doing things correctly the first time. Through mentorship, training, and offering leadership chances, she aims to build leaders inside her organizations.

We all endure challenges, but for many people, the potential of losing their sight is terrifying. Despite taking enormous challenges as a result of visual loss, some genuinely remarkable people in the world have surmounted their handicaps to accomplish incredible achievements. I think that is true because there are many individuals in the world today who have perfectly healthy eyes but do not see clearly the way they are conducting their lives. Well, allow me to introduce to you a great friend of mine. Yes, in today's episode, we talk to Ed Marquette!

Ed Marquette is a man who lost his sight at the age of 17. He's also a Client, Business Partner, Advocate, Strategist, and Senior Partner at Kutak Rock- a legal firm that handles hardware development agreements, license agreements, distribution agreements, and prosecute and enforce intellectual property (IP) rights. His IP practice includes brand and trademark counseling, protection, and enforcement. Ed's technology-related practice encompasses technology development, e-commerce, and internet law matters, with a trade regulation experience internationally and domestically.

He's studied at the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree Bachelor of Arts (Economics) and continued his studies at Harvard University under Doctor of Law (J.D.). Since then, he's been working hard and passionately, gaining success in his line of work. Initially growing out of his franchising experience, Ed has developed a national reputation for legal matters affecting dentistry, including dental practice law compliance, reimbursement risks, and issues. But with 27 years of experience at Spencer Fane Britt & Browne, Ed moved his team to Sonnenschein Nath and Rosenthal. They were there for six years until Ed felt it was time and beneficial to move his team forward.

To create more opportunities for his partners and colleagues, he moved to Kutak Rock, Kansas City, LLP. Today, Ed's now worked for more than 11 years in the company and has inspired many of those younger than him to chase their dreams through hard work. Dr Malchow is passionate about reducing depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain and suffering from long-term opioids, in order for patients to live an abundant life with renewed joy and hope.

He served 25 years of military service holding various positions including Anesthesiology (Army and Air Force) Residency Program Director and Chief of Anesthesiology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX, and supported Operation Iraqi Freedom in Mosel, Iraq. In 2008, he accepted a clinical appointment as an Associate Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, where he created the Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Fellowship, significantly expanded the use of advanced techniques for multimodal anesthesia and pain control and served as the Medical Director of the Nashville Ambulatory Surgery Center. After accepting a staff position in 2015 at the Nashville VA Medical Center, he quickly established one of the few ketamine infusion centers (KIC) in the Veteran Health Administration (VHA) and the only KIC in the U.S. specifically targeting opioid cessation/reduction. He was invited to speak at the American Society of Ketamine Physicians in 2018 highlighting his experience with ketamine in the veteran population. He has been awarded the Legion of Merit, the Outstanding Program Director Award in 2006, and the Golden Apple Teaching Award in 2010. He has presented hundreds of lectures on a wide range of anesthesia and analgesia topics including the use of ketamine to regional, national, and international audiences, has published over 20 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and has a heart for the poor, the oppressed, and those in need, serving regularly on humanitarian medical missions for the past 20 years in Central and South America, the Balkans, Africa, and Asia.

Tiffany Wondrow is the President and owner of C&R Services, Inc., a commercial painting services firm.

That said, Tiffany wasn't always the boss. She had to gain experience in other fields. In fact, her first job was in commercial real estate management, where she worked for companies including Highwoods, JLL, CBRE, and Crescent Resources. She enjoyed working in commercial real estate, dealing with tenants, managing construction projects, negotiating leases, contract administration, and other aspects of the industry. With resilience, grit, and hardwood, she took a risk by partnering with her husband to run C&R full-time, in 2008. Since then, Tiffany has been managing the company full time alongside her wonderful husband, Jason Wondrow.

Today, Tiffany is also a member of the Nashville Chapters of NAWIC and IFMA. She is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a University of Phoenix graduate who is passionate about the advancement of women in the construction industry.

That said, today's episode is all about the importance of purpose, serving others, growing a business, and making things happen.
