What does Jesus mean when He says that if we want to be His disciples, then we have to HATE our father and mother and brother and sister and children and wife? This is very confusing.... I thought we had to honor our parent? And by the way, it's His Momma's birthday today.... why should we honor Mary?

In this weeks Gospel we see a very different Jesus... He is talking about His desire to cast a fire on the earth and dividing families!! What's the deal? What are supposed to think about "this" kind of Jesus?

Today is the Feast of the Assumption, when Mary is taken up to heaven, body and soul. If you could create your own momma... what would she be like? Jesus had the chance to do this, and He didn't hold back!!

Jesus knows his mission.. he knows where he is heading! Sometimes we look back at our past, on what and who we left behind, but we have to keep looking forward! What's your mission? Where are you heading? What are you looking at?

Happy Independence Day! In todays society we have a backwards view of "Freedom!" But today's Gospel speaks to us about true freedom... a freedom which goes beyond pleasure or doing what we must must do... True freedom is the moral right to do what we ought to do!
