In this seventh episode, Phil visits Pastor Daniel Stenberg. Daniel is pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church in Bergenfield, NJ. I wanted to share Daniel’s story because he is someone still in his first year of pastoral ministry, having graduated from our seminary, the Lutheran Brethren Seminary, in 2017.

Daniel also grew up a PK… pastor’s kid. He never thought he would end up behind a pulpit, but God called Daniel into ministry in a variety of ways that you’ll hear in a moment… from Hillcrest Lutheran Academy (our parochial high school in Fergus Falls, MN)… to our youth servant teams, to a post-hardcore band, through it all - God led Daniel to seminary and pastoral ministry.  Today, Daniel is learning how to shepherd a congregation in living out the 'Missio Dei'... the Mission of God!

Warren Geraghty, Eastern Regional Pastor for the Church of the Lutheran Brethren.   Warren has served the CLB for 34 years as a church planter in Montana and Connecticut, CPE Residency (chaplaincy) and as a Regional Pastor for the past 8 years.  Warren is married to CJ and they have three grown children:  Daniel, Karianne, and Ellen.

"Who will rescue that skunk?"  That's Warren's story.  How one man journeyed from Transcendental Meditation to faith in Jesus Christ through the love and testimony of fellow Christians in his life.  It's the story of evangelism that shaped an evangelist!  This is a heart-warming interview that will also challenge and encourage each of us to rescue fellow skunks, for the sake of God's Kingdom!

Most of us listening to this podcast are in North America.  So as you listen to Ethan share about his approach to evangelism, consider how his approaches could be lived out in similar ways today for those of us living in North America.  As North America culture is less influenced by a Christian worldview the insights on evangelism from our foreign missionaries are more valuable today than ever before in modern Western history.
