Most people get better after a concussion. But everyone’s experience is different, and we tend to forget both of those things.
When most of us hear “concussion,” we picture football or hockey. The real picture is much bigger. About a million Ontarians have had a concussion in the last seven years, and many never get the follow-up care they need after leaving the emergency room.
Throughout the first season of Inside The Concussion Landscape, host Dr. Michael Jorgensen, Director of Research at HeadsupCAN, sits down with the teams at Neurotrauma Care Pathways, Holland Bloorview’s NOvEL Lab and the Ontario Brain Injury Association. Together they look at where the system still loses people, and at the work happening across Canada to close those gaps.
The full interviews with each expert come out here the week after each video episode.
