Inside the DV Drama Room

Welcome back to another episode! This week we are speaking with someone who has been involved with the program since her very first year at Dougherty. From a freshman in my English 9 class to a member of our Advanced Honors Theatre course, Shareen has been involved in all aspects of our theatre program. Join as we learn about her fascination with theatre and coffee! All this and more Inside the DV Drama Room!

From backstage to onstage, help us celebrate this birthday girl! Today, we interview Abrielle. Abrielle has served as our stage manager for the past couple of years and is making the transition to performer during her senior year. Join us as we learn about her journey through the arts, the importance of baking, and how she balances all of this with ice skating! You can hear about all of this and more Inside the DV Drama Room!

Last week, we spoke with Ralph and his toe socks. This week, for some reason, toes became a part of the discussion. Join us as we speak with Aisla and learn about her journey through the performing arts. From her time she watched her sisters in dance class and began teaching herself, to hanging out at rehearsals with her sister and joining the cast! Aisla has done quite a bit, so listen in as we learn more about her!

Toe socks! If there's one thing that would clue you into what this podcast covers, it would be toe socks! This week we interview Ralph, a senior in our program who is well known for his socks. Join us as we speak to Ralph and try to learn if there are other aspects of his life that may be interesting to explore.

We love it when our alumni come back and visit, and this week, we welcome back one of the strongest actors to come through the DV Drama program, Zeina! This week, Zeina talks about her time in the program, how she persisted after not being cast after her first audition, and ponders the new adventures that await her as she prepares to head down to UCLA soon.

Welcome back for another episode! This week we are speaking with another graduate of the class of 2026 that didn't do a podcast during their senior year. This week we welcome Ryan! Ryan is one of those students who joined the drama program halfway through his senior year and was able to do one show with our program, but that show made quite an impression. Speaking of impressions, just take a listen as Ryan talks about the production experience and the impression that he incorporated into his character. School has finally started and we are back to recording interviews with our Advanced Theatre Arts Students! Before we start interviewing our current seniors, there was a member of the Class of 2026 that was never interviewed due to scheduling conflicts. Raya was a Drama Officer last year as well as playing a role in Urinetown: The Musical! Join us as we learn about her thoughts about her time at Dougherty, what she will miss about the Drama Program, and what she plans on doing as she heads off to college!

We are back for another year of Inside the DV Drama Room! This is a special episode, not only because we recorded it before the school year started, but it also features a first! We did an an interview with siblings that went through the program together! Join us as we learn what it was like to be so close to each other and go through the program at the same time! We're looking forward to another great year of DVHS Drama and hope that you will continue to support our program!

This week we are speaking to the President of the Drama Club! Lauren has been a part of the drama program since her freshman year and has been a vocal advocate for not only theatre, but all arts programs on campus. Join us as we learn about her journey through the drama program, how taking no AP classes still led to admission to 4-year colleges, her time in Leadership, and how she plans to spend her future helping others. Join us for our final podcast before Spring Break!

She's been doing theatre a long time. She was a quiet freshman in Theatre 1. She's also been in choir since her freshman year. Join us as we learn about the quiet freshman who worked her way up to a very vocal and important member of our theatre arts program. This week we speak with Jess Goyal, who is also a drama officer and recently played Ms. Pennywise in our production of Urinetown: The Musical! Enjoy!
