The BYW Retrospective series is back!!!! Erik and Matt are joined by fellow PA representitive, Sic Ric Keller. Ric became a big part of the GBYWN generation both in the ring and booking shows. He's also responsible for putting together the BIG reunion show at the end of September.

Join Erik, Matt, and Ric as they dive into Ric's story of backyard wrestling. From not knowing it existed, to becoming the link between the midwest, south, and north east, to becoming an Allentown and BXW staple, the boys shoot the shit and share stories.

Ric will be back next week for part 2, as we got to him finally coming to Allentown at the end of this episode. It's a good ride and there's more in store for next week.

  • THE Definition Of MID
ITERZ wraps up the NFC South on today's episode, as Erik and Matt preview the Buccaneers and Saints. These two teams were the top of the NFC South a year ago, but find themselves in interesting scenarios heading into the season.

Tampa Bay saw Baker Mayfield revitalize himself a year ago, with possibly his best season. His weapons are the same and there's been an attempt to upgrade the OL. However, will the loss of Canales hurt him? Defensively, this team has a few special players, but as a whole were average. Will they be the unit that steps up and keeps them in playoff contention?

Over to New Orleans, where the talk is about Derek Carr and Chris Olave. Carr had good stats last year, but is he a guy you think can take a team to the ultimate destination? Olave is entering year 3 and coming off of a solid 1000 yard season. Is that his ceiling or can he become a top tier WR1? On the defensive side for them, their secondary looks good on paper. Do they have the front 7 to win this division?

  • It's Mind-blowing Really
Erik and Matt are off to the NFC South as they preview the Panthers and Falcons today.
They start in Carolina, where after reading into everything...they didn't help out Bryce at all. This team is a full rebuild, will they give Caneles enough time?

Then it's off to Atlanta, where people are loving this team. Erik and Matt look through the roster, the roster moves, and the first round draft choice and really debate whether Atlanta is a team deserving the hype or not.

  • Just Say No
The show begins with Erik and Matt recapping WWE Summerslam match by match. Was this universally praised by the ITERZ crew? What impact will Roman's return have? Also discussed are little nuances in wrestling and why people desperately need to take their armchair booker hats off and be a fan again.

As they dive into football, they finish off the NFC North preview. Starting in Minnesota, will it be Sam Darnold or JJ McCarthy running the show? The offense is talented at skill positions, but is this OL good enough? They also discuss a defense that on paper looks to be trouble. Can Flores do another GREAT job and have this defense competitive?

Over to Chicago, the big question is Caleb Williams. Matt talks about what he likes about Caleb, but also why he has legitimate concerns about the rookie and his NFL future. Ultimately, is Chicago a sleeper, or are people buying into too much hype?

  • SummerSlam & Optimism
Today's episode saw Erik and Matt dive into WWE Summerslam, and head to the NFC North. This whole division is a division of optimism, and they tackled the Lions and Packers. Both teams are coming off playoff appearances and are receiving a lot of hype and praise heading into 2025.

Starting in Detroit, we are joined by Monty. Matt asks him about Dan Campbell's aggressiveness and how it bit them in the NFC title game, and what they've done to revitalize Jared Goff. The Lions are in a territory they're not used to being in. Can they continue to build up?

Over in Green Bay, the Packers are coming off a HOT end to 2024. With a young offense growing together and Jordan Love rounding into form, does GB have the defense to make them elite? Will this offense get better or stay on par with the second half of last year?

  • Overrated?
It's part two of ITERZ's AFC West preview. The teams in focus today are the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers, teams that are big question marks heading into the 2024 season.
Erik and Matt start off in Denver, where they focus heavily on the overall talent of the roster and Head Coach Sean Payton.
Despite going 8-9 last season, there's questions at QB and a lack of talent/depth across all positions. Is Denver on the way up or are they stuck in the past?

With Harbaugh taking the job with the Chargers, there's reason to be optimistic. The question is, will that optimism pay off this season, or will the Harbaugh effect open things up for 2025 and beyond?
Also, with some talking heads trying to flip the script on Herbert, Matt and Erik look through what he's done and what he's had to deal with. It may be a rocky 2024, but the Chargers do have optimism for the future.

  • Total Opposites
ITERZ heads out west for their first of 2 episodes about the AFC West. Today's a talk about two franchises that are currently polar opposites of each other, being the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders may have made the right move and kept Antonio Pierce as their head coach. However; will he have what it takes to turn around a franchise and culture that's been out of whack since 2003?
A team with talent on defense and a stud WR, who will take control and win the QB battle? Do they have the pieces in place to become a consistent winner and potential threat in the division?

It's then off to Kansas City as they dive into the dynasty. KC has the head coach, the best QB in the game, speed at WR, and a young defense....is it going to be any shock that they're good once again?
How will Andy Reid utilize the new speedy WRs in Hollywood Brown and Xavier McKinney?

All these questions are answered and more on today's episode!

  • Straight Cheeks
Today's show begins with a laugher, as ESPN put out a list of the best college QBs since 2000. Erik and Matt don't dive in too deep, but they rip through the various mistakes. This leads to a quick discussion of quality of media, especially podcasts.

After this, the boys dive back to the south, as they discuss the Colts and Titans today. Starting in Indy, they go through the potential of Anthony Richardson and what he could showcase this season. With him missing a majority of the season and them still competing for a playoff spot, can Ant lead them to the playoffs? What about the other spots on the roster....did the WR room get upgraded? Will the lack of a great TE hurt them? Is this defense going to be able to keep them in games and improve from last year? The Colts are an interesting team and certainly a Wild Card in this division.

It's then off to Tennessee to talk about the Titans and where they are headed. They certainly attempted to address WR and OL this offseason. Will these moves pay off? Did Will Levis show enough last year to get a full year to start and figure it out? The defense also made some moves. Are they blended well enough with youth and established talent to make a difference?

  • We Head South....Texans & Jaguars Training Camp
ITERZ's Around The NFL heads to the AFC South for part 1 of their coverage of a very interesting division. Today, Erik and Matt tackle the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars. These two teams are possibly on different trajectories, as Jacksonville collapsed at the end of last season, while Houston shocked the world.

They start in Jacksonville, where there are questions up and down this team. Can Doug P turn it around? Is Trevor Lawrence overrated? Will the addition of Gabe Davis do enough to open up this offense? Does Doug put too much on the shoulders/arm of his QBs?

Houston is a betting favorite, but why? What are Erik and Matt's thoughts on CJ Stroud, OC Bobby Slowick, and the overall defense of the Texans? Why are Houston area podcasts so focused on back up QB play? Can Jeff Okudah finally turn into something?

The boys are off to Indy and Tennessee tomorrow to wrap up the AFC South!
