  • Wylie Gustafson - The Yahoo DOT Com Cowboy!!! The Hardest Working Cowboy in Country Music!!

Wylie Gustafson is a native Montanan singer/songwriter with 22 albums and 3 decades of performing, writing, and recording under his belt.  He is one of the few authentic voices of the American West who steadfastly celebrates and sings about the active rural culture of America.  As on critic called him, “…the coolest cowpoke around.  Forget everything you hate about modern Country, this guy is old school cool without being a tired period piece.” In 2020 Wylie was inducted into the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame.  In 2017 he became a member of the Montana Pro Rodeo Wall and Hall of Fame.  His western lifestyle and the recording studio are inseparable. “The connection between my cowboy life and my music is extremely close,” he says. His music has been baptized with a hardy dose of trail dust and horse hair. As an accomplished cutting horse and rodeo enthusiast, he has claimed several hard won regional and national titles within the National Cutting Horse Association astride his super-horse, “Whiskey”.  That shiny belt buckle he wears wasn’t won on eBay.

  • Everybody Still Loves The Tinklers - Charles Brohawn & Chris Mason!

The Tinklers, Charles Brohawn and Chris Mason, are an "outsider" band from Baltimore who have been together since 1979.

Their talent can be seen on the documentary,  Everybody Loves The Tinklers.

Their performance is the antithesis of conventional standards and skills thought necessary for making music.  People may try to tell you that.  They create amazing music.  They are often thought of in the same sentence with acts such as Jad Fair, Half Japanese and Daniel Johnston.

    The Music

The Tinklers - Fun Fun Fun in the Sun Sun Sun (Live)

Disc 2, track 3 off of the out of print Working Holiday! CD compilation of the 7" single series issued by Simple Machines Records in 1994. This limited edition bonus CD contains live performances from the Working Holiday Three Day Weekend on January 7-9, 1994.

  • Carmaig de Forest-Post/Punk Ukulele Indie Rock Singer Songwriter Performance Artist

My guest tonight joins a short list of rockers who embraced the ukulele and made it cool.  The ukulele that almost became a dorm room decoration in 1978 became his signature sound and formed his many, brilliant punk-leaning songs about love and politics.  Camaig de Forest crafted a career out of his passion for music at the University of California Santa Cruz.  He studied theatre with his sights set on acting and directing.  While in college, he plucked the ukulele off the wall and started writing songs.  In 1982 he moved to Los Angeles and started his career as a solo artist.  His ability to gather a devoted audience with his amalgam of performance energy and clever songwriting earned him the honor of sharing the bill with Violent Femmes, They Might Be Giants, and the Ramones.

  • Wayne White South Pole Site Manager - Life Beyond The Dark & Cold

Tonight we take a trip to the South Pole with South Pole Winter Site Manager Wayne White.  This is a place of conspiracy and wonder, maybe because more people have been to Area 51 than have been to the South Pole…  Wayne is responsible for 42 lives in an environment that promises only cold and darkness.  What wonders lie hundreds of miles from ANY human or other living creature?

  • Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth - Dr. Avi Loeb

In late 2017, scientists at a Hawaiian observatory glimpsed an object soaring through our inner solar system, moving so quickly that it could only have come from another star. Avi Loeb, Harvard’s top astronomer, showed it was not an asteroid; it was moving too fast along a strange orbit, and left no trail of gas or debris in its wake. There was only one conceivable explanation: the object was a piece of advanced technology created by a distant alien civilization.

Dr. Avi Loeb is the Frank B. Baird, Jr., Professor of Science at Harvard University. He received a PhD in Plasma Physics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel at age 24, and led the first international project supported by the Strategic Defense Initiative, and was subsequently a long-term member of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton.  Dr. Loeb has written 8 books, including most recently, Extraterrestrial which is available now for order on Amazon.  He has hundreds of papers on a wide range of topics, including black holes, the first stars, the search for extraterrestrial life and the future of the Universe. He had been the longest serving Chair of Harvard's Department of Astronomy, Founding Director of Harvard's Black Hole Initiative and Director of the Institute for Theory and Computation within the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.  He serves as Chair of the Board on Physics and Astronomy of the National Academies.  In 2012, TIME magazine selected Dr. Loeb as one of the 25 most influential people in space and in 2020 he was selected among the 14 most inspiring Israelis of the last decade.

  • John Lear - The Godfather of Conspiracy is Inside The Guest Studio!

Anytime John Lear talks conspiracies, it’s time to shut up and listen.  Tonight John talks about a universe that is much bigger than most of us realize.  Sit back and listen to the Godfather of Conspiracy on My Alien Life.

“One of the anguishes of advancing age is losing old friends.  The upside of that, though, is that I get to tell the story my way."

I learned to fly at Clover Field in Santa Monica when I was 14.  However before I got to get in an actual airplane Dad made me take 40 hours of Link with Charlie Gress.  I can't remember what I did yesterday but I guarantee you I could still shoot a 90 degree, Fade-out or Parallel radio range orientation.

When I turned 16 I had endorsements on my student license for an Aero Commander 680E and Cessna 310.

I got my private at 17 and instrument rating shortly thereafter.  The Lockheed 18 Lodestar was my first type rating at age 18. I went to work for my father and brother flying copilot on a twin beech out of Geneva Switzerland after I got out of high school.  Dad was over there trying to peddle radios to the European airlines. However just after I turned 18 and got my Commercial I was showing off my aerobatics talents in a Bucker Jungmann to my friends at a Swiss boarding school I had attended.  I managed to start a 3 turn spin from too low an altitude and crashed.

I managed to get the following type ratings: 707/720/727, Convair 240/340/440, DC-3, DC-8, B-26, Gulfstream 1, Lockheed Constellation, Lear Jet series, HS-125, Lockheed L-1011, Lockheed L-18, Lockheed P-38, Martin 202/404, B-17, B-25, Grumman TBM  and Ford Trimotor. I also have single and mufti engine sea, rotorcraft helicopter and gyroplane, and lighter than air free balloon. I never got all categories having missed the Airship.  And in case you are interested many, many airmen have lots more type ratings.  What I did get…that no other airman got was most FAA certificates: these are the ATP, Flight Instructor with airplane single and mufti engine, instrument, rotorcraft helicopter and gyroplane and glider. Flight Navigator, Flight Engineer, Senior Parachute Rigger, Control Tower Operator, A&P, Ground Instructor, Advanced and Instrument and Aircraft Dispatcher. I have 19,488 hours of total time of which 15,325 hours is in 1,2,3 or 4 engine jet. I took a total of 181 FAA (or designated check airman) check rides and failed 2. I have flown 119 types of airplanes, helicopters, gyroplanes and gliders.

Of the thousands of times I knowingly violated an FAA regulation I was only caught once but never charged or prosecuted.

Now some of you may be asking why so many airlines  collapsed that I worked for and why I got fired so many times.  My excuse is simple. I am not the brightest crayon in the box, I am extremely lazy, I have a smart mouth and a real poor f**king attitude.”

About Inside the Guest Studio

From the publisher's feed

I‘m Cam Logan - I‘m a people person. I want to explore the human soul...as long as it isn‘t all wet and goey. We are the incredibly compelling species we know very little about. Let‘s change that. I will search the planet for those with a story to tell and discover the person behind the experience. It may be a celebrity, your neighbor or even you. What it certainly won‘t be is something you‘d expect. We‘ll explore the deeper side of what it means to be human. This is a show about us and I can‘t wait for you to meet who we really are.
