While completing an audit, I discovered some interesting facts. Since most of my 32 GB storage is taken up by apps, I went diving into Marshmallow to see which ones are taking up the most space. I need to keep 4 GB free in main memory to avoid laggy performance with the handset.
Pocket Casts was using 2.04 GB so I changed settings and removed all but the previous five episodes. WSJ was using 1.74 GB--I use that app several times daily. OneNote syncs 1.1 GB onto my Android handset and I know I need that info for courses I teach.
I had to uninstall several games my 8yo daughter put onto the phone.
Some other interesting points I discovered.
Audible uses 344 MB.
Games use 34 MB.
360 Pans use 15 MB.
Waze is using 5 MB.
Facebook's Orca uses 1 MB.
Adobe Digital Editions uses 10 kb.
Prisma, Magistro, Documents, DCIM and Cardboard are using no main memory.
