Medicine has gold standards for treatment that are supposed to provide patients with the proper care that will get them the best possible outcome. However, not everybody with the same illnesses will have access to the same treatment. This is what is meant by the term "Discrepancies in Healthcare." Working at two different hospitals with two very different patient populations, I've been able to see how healthcare discrepancies effect patients. I will share some of the experiences I've had and use a prime example of how drastic patient outcomes can be.
