Ever rolled into church late, coffee in hand, wondering if it even mattered how you showed up?
I have. And I usually don’t think twice about it: jeans, flip flops, maybe even still brushing off breakfast crumbs. But then I heard a story from my mom that stopped me in my tracks.
She saw a beautifully dressed woman at the grocery store early one Sunday morning. Bright dress, matching hat, earrings, heels—the works. When my mom complimented her, the woman simply smiled and said: “I’m dressed up for the Lord.”
That moment stayed with me.
In today’s Anchor Point, we reflect on:
- How our appearance can reflect our reverence
- What it means to “come as you are” and how that doesn’t mean casual can’t still be intentional
- The difference between showing up to check a box… and showing up with joy
Scripture (NIV):
Psalm 96:9 – “Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.”
