Insights To Reality

Just as we were beginning to find a position of stability in our financial and economic lives, the COVID-19 pandemic emerged adversely affecting us all in the most profound ways. With the scars still fresh from the financial and property crash we began to question our security in life. The mental illness pandemic has threatened our ability to make the ‘right’ choices and we now are beginning to question our personal security, democratic rights, and freedom of choice in terms of the very fabric of our society. 

 The Covid pandemic and our reaction to it politically and socially has undermined the global confidence in systems of societal governance. By this I mean we are beginning to question the validity and effectiveness and justice of the global systems of governance that determine how society operates. 

 This could prove to be the biggest challenge humanity has faced with widespread adverse effects in multiple areas of society and living. It is becoming a catalyst for social reflection and a questioning of our global societal systems of law, order, and governance. This is then spilling over into the areas of health, justice, equality, ecology, sexuality, religion, and spirituality with many questioning the authenticity of our current mindset.  

 World health is acutely vulnerable as was proven by the pandemic which affected the health, financial, economic, political and democracy of the developed world. It also created a further divide between the developed and the under-developed world. And yet it had been foretold that the over population of the world would have to be addressed and rebalanced either by natural or unnatural forces. The Covid pandemic was one of the greatest challenges we as a global society faced for decades. 

 The initial question that has to be asked to which there is yet no answer is; “was this a natural or a manmade virus?”

 If it was a naturally developed virus then the challenges it has presented are in keeping with the balance of nature on this planet. If it was engineered by man, then it is out of balance with nature and as such should be feared and of great concern. 

 If it was a natural virus then we should complement our global medical industry for developing a vaccine so quickly. If it was manmade then there is always the question of conspiracy and whether this was an exploitation for political or financial gain or other adverse motivations. It would also explain the speed at finding a vaccine and the new emergent strains could be yet another effort to exert further control over the masses!

We may never know the full story or realise the truth about this pandemic. One thing is certain if we were to be plagued with another one in the future that was substantially worse, then if the pattern of behaviour that resulted from this pandemic is anything to go by, the world could be a very scary place.

To finish on a positive, we have ridden the storm, passed the crucial point of the pandemic and now are beginning to return to some level of normality. Now is the opportunity for humanity to assess how we reacted and performed in the face of this adversity so that we can ensure a more efficient, competent, justified, and humane reaction to a potential next one!

I think we should demand that the World Health Organisation carries out an enquiry into the origins and source of the virus and to review the actions taken and agree set protocols for any future pandemics.

For now, enjoy the returned freedom to enjoy life fully without restraint.

Now as I am about to launch my second book The True Nature of our Reality, so much has happened to me and the world around me that it’s a challenge to know where to start. 

 I’ve changed and the world around me has followed suit. The changes to us both have been profound, challenging and dramatic.

In 2006, when I first launched The Secret of Life, the material world was a world of abundance for very many of us in the western world. While the undeveloped parts of the world continued to struggle we were becoming more and more affluent. 

Financial abundance perceived at the time to represent success, fuelled further growth and expansion of our personal income, domestic and international economies. I was ambitious, healthy, happy and very well off financially. I was successful in my property career and as a personal development writer and speaker.

The depth of the teaching in me has expanded and intensified and I have been blessed by life experiences and with further growth in my personal and spiritual development. 

In the years following the publishing of The Secret of LifeI presented what I called the Sirius teachings in the form of a one-day seminar called The Sirius Life Seminar  but after two years the property crash in Ireland in 2008 forced me to redirect my focus back to the family property business and my career as a chartered surveyor and property arbitrator. When my father passed away suddenly in 2009, I had no choice but to take over the family property business putting a hold on my passion for spirituality. 

The crash had a serious affect not only on my professional career in the property and real estate business but also personally having been one of the many caught out by the dramatic and immediate crash in the value of property. The property investments I had made were decimated in value almost overnight. 

I spent the next eight or nine years struggling professionally to ensure the business survived and personally battling financial insolvency with two banks. There were some very dark days and mental, emotional and physical challenges but I emerged successfully with the property business intact and my personal financial solvency secured. I am not looking for sympathy for the challenges I had, and I know of many of my colleagues who had greater challenges than mine, but it took a lot out of me and left me battled, scarred and very imbalanced. I was physically exhausted, emotionally drained, mentally challenged and spiritually lost by the end of the battle. 

In the summer of 2019, I had my deepest awakening yet triggered by a mental breakdown and culminating in being hospitalized for depression.

I was almost three months in hospital detached fully from everything and in the end when I was discharged, I had a new perspective on life and living. 

Today, I am physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually healthy and progressing well. I am financially comfortable. I now have a Masters Degree in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology to complement my BA in Philosophy. I continue to practice in property as a chartered surveyor and property arbitrator but am supported now by my daughter Rebecca who joined the company.

How I came to write my latest book - The True Nature of Our Reality. My search for a new meaning to life and the true nature of reality. The dichotomy between me living the life of a chartered surveyor and property arbitrator and my life of spiritual reflection, study and teaching.

The highs of publishing my first book The Secret of Life, having it endorsed by Deepak Chopra and Robin Sharma, producing audio mediation CDs and DVDs and presenting seminars all over the world and then crashing to insolvency and depression.

I want to share the inspirations and enlightenment I have experienced on my journey with you. There, is so much more to reality than we have been led to believe. You create your world and reality, and you are so much more than you would let yourself believe. In this podcast I want to help you to experience a shift in perspective that will enable you to see the world as it really is and you as you really are.

The past is memory, the future is imagination and all that is real is the present moment.  Our thinking has a big part to play in determining how we experience reality. The quality of our thinking then reflects the quality of our life experience.
