Mrs Joanna (Jo) Tyrer has over 25 years of experience in the IT sector. She was recently nominated for the 2020 Women in IT award and primarily specialises in business transformation. Over the years, she has worked in Europe and Asia Pacific with many different IT companies and currently runs a French HQ software company based in Singapore. In terms of her education, she read Major Spanish and Minor French at Newcastle University and holds an executive MBA from INSEAD Paris. Through this interview, we wish to learn about her journey and how students can use her lessons to prepare for the 21st century workplace.

From science to entrepreneurship, Chun Kit Choi has immersed himself in a wide variety of initiatives. In 2018, he graduated from the National University of Singapore after studying Physics. This came after he had previously spent two years in the Singapore army reaching the rank of Lieutenant as an Air Warfare Officer. In addition, Chun has taken on numerous student initiatives. This included roles such as being lead organizer of ‘Startup Weekend’ as well as acting as Vice President of the NUS Young Entrepreneurs Association. However, what arguably sets Chun apart is his ability to learn through a variety of diverse work experiences. When it comes to internships, there are not many people who could give better advice in fulfilling our potential. While taking on several high profile internships in the past, his most recent situated him at Salesforce.

In this episode, we were lucky enough to interview Myra Lee, a former Team Singapore National diver . In 2010, she competed in the inaugural Youth Olympics Games held in Singapore. In her event, she managed to persevere past a back injury she faced in the Girls 10m and made it to the finals. In 2013, Myra took part in the SEA Games and won a bronze medal. She subsequently took home the silver medal in the Women's synchronized 10m platform at the 2015 and 2017 SEA Games. Myra is currently situated in a successful corporate role. In this interview, we find out how the skills she learnt as an athlete benefited her in this corporate role among various other advice!
