  • Counting Your Blessings

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits." Psalm 103:2

    Remembering God’s Goodness

It’s easy to focus on what we lack, the prayers that seem unanswered, or the difficulties we face. But Psalm 103:2 calls us to bless the Lord and not forget His benefits. David, the writer of this psalm, understood the importance of remembering God’s goodness. He encouraged his soul to be grateful, despite any challenges he faced.

When we intentionally count our blessings, we shift our focus from what’s missing to what God has already provided. Gratitude changes our perspective and strengthens our faith. Even in tough times, we can find reasons to praise God—our health, provision, friendships, salvation, and the gift of a new day.

  • Remembering God’s Faithfulness
    Looking Back to Move Forward

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands." -Deuteronomy 8:2

Life is full of ups and downs, and in difficult times, it’s easy to forget how faithful God has been. When challenges arise, we often focus on the struggle and forget the many ways God has provided, protected, and guided us in the past. But remembering God’s faithfulness strengthens our trust in Him and renews our confidence for the future.

  • Gratitude Changes Perspective

Life is full of moments that test our patience, shake our faith, and cause us to focus on what’s missing rather than what we have. But gratitude has the power to change how we see our circumstances. It’s not just about saying “thank you” but about developing a heart that trusts in God's goodness, no matter what happens.

  • The Power of a Grateful Heart

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." – Psalm 100:4

Gratitude is a choice. It is not based on circumstances but on the posture of our hearts. A grateful heart shifts our focus from what is missing to the abundant blessings that God has already provided. When we cultivate a heart of thanksgiving, we invite joy, peace, and God's presence into our lives.

  • Give Thanks in All Things

Gratitude shifts our perspective. It doesn’t mean ignoring hardships, but it means choosing to see God’s goodness even in the middle of them. In all things—not just the good ones—we are called to give thanks.

Paul, who wrote this verse, understood suffering. He was imprisoned, beaten, and persecuted, yet he still gave thanks. Why? Because gratitude keeps our hearts aligned with God, reminds us of His faithfulness, and strengthens our trust in Him.

  • God is in Control

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." – Isaiah 41:10

Life often throws unexpected challenges our way—financial struggles, health crises, relationship difficulties, and uncertainties about the future. In those moments, it is easy to feel overwhelmed, wondering if things will ever get better. But as believers, we must remind ourselves of one unshakable truth: God is in control.

  • Perfect Love Casts Out Fear

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” – 1 John 4:18

Fear is a powerful emotion that can paralyze us, hold us back from stepping into God’s calling, and keep us from experiencing the fullness of His love. But God never intended for us to live in fear. His perfect love is stronger than any fear we face—whether it’s fear of the future, failure, rejection, or the unknown. When we fully embrace His love, fear loses its grip.

  • Courage to Face Giants

David said to the Philistine, 'You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.'" – 1 Samuel 17:45

Life often presents us with giants—challenges that seem impossible to overcome. Fear, doubt, financial struggles, broken relationships, health battles, or even spiritual strongholds can loom over us, making us feel small and powerless. But as believers, we do not stand against these giants alone. Our confidence does not come from our own strength but from the power of God working within us.

  • Stepping Out in Faith

"Come," he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus." – Matthew 14:29 (NIV)

Faith often requires stepping into the unknown, taking a risk, and trusting that God will sustain us. It’s not always easy—our minds crave certainty, and fear whispers doubts. Yet, when we obey God's call, even when it seems impossible, we experience His power in ways we never imagined.

  • God Hasn’t Given Us Fear

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." – 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Fear is a powerful tool the enemy uses to keep us from walking in God’s purpose. It makes us doubt, retreat, and hesitate when God calls us to move forward in faith. But the good news is that fear does not come from God. Instead, He gives us strength, love, and a clear mind to face every situation with confidence.
