In today's episode, I am honored to host Dr. Andrea Berg. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, and her medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, Washington, DC. Dr. Berg completed her residency training in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT, and her Geriatrics Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. Dr. Berg is certified in both internal medicine and geriatric medicine.

In today's episode, we have Dr. Tony Anene-Maidoh,M.D., a board-certified neurosurgeon with us. He specializes in minimally invasive and complex surgery of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves. Additionally, he had a faculty position at Thomas Jefferson University. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson University Medical School in Philadelphia, PA. His internship and residency were completed at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, with a subsequent fellowship in Spine Surgery at the same institution. Dr. Maidoh's research focus involves investigating the socioeconomic factors that impact clinical outcomes in neurosurgery. He is currently in private practice based in Delaware.

In today's episode, we are speaking with Dr. Brianna Rossiter, MD, MS. She is an internist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Forbes Hospital and UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside. She received her medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She is Certified in Internal Medicine by American Board of Internal Medicine. 

Dr. Rossiter’s research interests are in medical education, specifically within the domains of medical communication, use of empathy in medical training and practice, as well as in the broad sector of women’s health education. Dr. Rossiter has presented her work and teaching both locally and nationally.

Dr. Rossiter is a staff physician at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. She works with medical trainees at various levels, supervising both inpatient and outpatient care of Veterans. Dr. Rossiter specializes in caring for female Veterans with reproductive health concerns, including in the peripartum period.

Dr. Rossiter's educational interest is in teaching, applying, and evaluating best practices in medical communication skills. She is a faculty leader for the interviewing content in the UPSOM and also instructs faculty in teaching communication skills.

Dr. Pauline Thomas has practiced public health, pediatrics, and preventive medicine in NYC and in NJ for over 30 years. She started as an EIS officer with CDC, then researched the epidemiology of pediatric HIV, supervised HIV surveillance and the establishment of the World Trade Center Health Registry with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and now oversees preventive medicine training at Rutgers NJ Medical School, as well as maintaining a part time practice in Pediatrics. She received her medical degree from Yale Medical School. She is board certified in Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine. Her areas of interest include Public Health, Public Health Practice, Preventive Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, Pediatrics, Climate and Health, HIV.

For our episode today, we are joined by Dr. Samir Sutaria, an esteemed professional in the field of Nephrology. For our episode today, I’m excited to be joined by Dr. Morton. Dr. Ronald A. Morton, JR, MD, FACS, is the Vice President of Clinical Sciences for the Urology and Pelvic Health division of Boston Scientific, a position that he has held since August 2015. Before joining Boston Scientific, via acquisition, Dr. Morton worked for Endo International plc as chief surgical officer, American Medical Systems. Previously, he worked for GTx, a biotech company in Memphis, TN, as chief medical officer. Prior to joining GTx, Dr. Morton was chief of urology at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and director of urologic oncology for the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. He also held an endowed chair position as director of the General Clinical Research Center. Dr. Morton holds a BA in natural sciences from The Johns Hopkins University and received his medical doctorate from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has board certification as a diplomat, American Board of Urology.

For our episode today, I’m excited to be joined by Dr. Rupa Gill, MD who is a pediatric gastroenterologist serving the communities of Warren, New Brunswick, and Hokoben in New Jersey. Dr. Gill attended Marshall University, where she received her medical degree. She also completed her internship and residency at the same institution. She then completed her fellowship at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Gill is a part of Saint Peter’s Healthcare Systems – Pediatric Gastroenterology. She is board certified in pediatrics and also pediatric gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics.

For our episode today, I’m excited to be joined by Dr. Ken Stein, who is Boston Scientific’s Chief Medical Officer, overseeing all divisions and is a member of their Executive Committee. Dr. Stein is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist and worked at Weill Cornell Medical Center and was Associate Professor of Medicine at Cornell University. Dr. Stein is widely published, having authoring over 150 peer-reviewed scientific publications. Dr. Stein is a graduate of Harvard College (in Economics) and then went on to graduate from the NYU School of Medicine. He completed his medical internship and residency at The New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he also completed his cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology training.

For our episode today, I’m excited to be joined by Dr. Madhu Patel. She is an internist in New Hyde Park, New York and has been affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including NYU Langone Hospitals and Long Island Jewish Medical Center at Northwell Health. She is currently affiliated with NYU. She received her medical degree from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and has been in practice for over 20 years. She also has held position of clinical Instructor, Department of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. We’ll discuss how she became interested in this field, what are some of the most common and rare types of scenarios she treats, how she diagnoses these scenarios, and what are some of the latest advances and innovations in her field.
