This week we begin the Journey to Transcendence, a six-week Sunday message and small group series designed to give you an inspiring Lenten season.

 

We kick off the series this Sunday with a message about the important of kindness as a step to transcendence.

How does one translate vision into reality, especially if other people are involved?

That’s when understanding that everyone is a leader is important to understand, and that’s the subject of this week’s message at Unity of Fairfax.

Today is Super Bowl Sunday, and, well, it’s been an odd season; however, the complexities of our times does not prevent us from serving to create a word that works for everyone.

In fact, we’ve been forced to be more creative. Creative engagement is our focus this Sunday.

Having, understanding, and appreciating sacred spaces and mystical experiences is central to a rich spiritual life.

This week’s message addresses these experiences in an enlightening way.

We will consider practical ways to work with the flow of life—instead of against it—and gain a deeper understanding of what it truly means to live abundantly.

“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”—John 10:10

For the message in this important week, Rev. Russell draws inspiration from Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s quote:

I have decided to stick to love; hate is too great a burden to bear.

Ever hear the phrase, “Yes, but…”?

It means “no” as in, “yes, I’d like to change, but that means doing something different; so, no.”

This week Rev. Russell addresses some impediments to change and growth—and how to overcome them.

As a virtual experience, our New Year’s Eve Service of Release and Renewal will present some new ways of engaging in our meaningful year-end rituals.

As 2020 comes to a close, many of us are breathing a sigh of relief! As we thoughtfully consider what has been and ponder the New Year, we resolutely declare that it shall be twenty-twenty-wonderful!

“Joy to the world” is not only an aspiration, but an affirmation as well. Unity of Fairfax is committed to bringing more joy to the world as we explore the experience of Joy as a part of the Christmas season.
