Today on Live in the Light, pastor Robbie kicks off a new series, working verse by verse through the book of 2 Corinthians. We start with the first 7 verses that remind us that we serve a God of comfort! When we cling to worldly comfort, it restricts us from experiencing the perfect comfort that only the Lord can provide. This does not mean that this life will be free from pain and trials, but in the midst of suffering, the Lord comforts us. It is this suffering that produces endurance in us—and this endurance produces blessings for those around us.
What can God do through a willing heart and a simple act of service? Phil and Steve Schilstra reflect on a mission trip to Ghana, where they helped build a Christian school and witnessed how audio Bibles are opening doors for people to encounter God's Word for the first time. Also, Bonnie Sala of Guidelines shares a powerful testimony from Nepal, where biblical encouragement through Christian radio brought hope and healing to a grieving mother during one of the darkest seasons of her life.
Your Faith to Live By devotional thought for July 20, 2026.
Brought to you by Sue Taylor and the Sky High Podcast Network.
How would you recognize a false teacher? We tend to think that false teaching is simply a theological problem. Dr. John teaches from 2 Peter that false teaching is an ethical concern. In other words, we discern heresy not just from what people say, but what people are. "Belief" and "being" are twinned, for good or evil.
Danger From Within: Jesus spoke of wolves in sheep's clothing. Paul warned of wolves among the flock. Peter alerts the Church of false teachers. It was a danger for the early church. It remains a challenge for today's Church. Listen as Dr. John unfolds 2 Peter for our caution and protection.
