God wants to draw us closer to Him and reveal what is on His heart to us. This begins with us being interested in developing a friendship with Him.

Waiting on God and yielding to Him

Waiting in God’s presence is an art that can be developed when we practice it frequently.

It causes our hearts to be expectant.

Proverbs 23:18

For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

Waiting on God is one of the ways to develop intimacy with God.

Proverbs 8:34-35

Blessed is the man that heareth me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, And shall obtain favour of the LORD.

Psalms 51:17

My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise

Psalm 147:3

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Isaiah 65:14

My servants will sing out of the joy of their hearts, but you will cry out from anguish of heart and wail in brokenness of spirit.
