#ForTheMindsetMixes 05 - @inspirEnrich x @djdelano (2019 END OF YEAR MIX)

For the 1st “The Best Of..” mix of 2020 we have chosen the true Godfather of Grime Wiley. Inlight of the somewhat bi-annual resurgence of the essence of Grime, kicked of by Dot Rotten’s War Dubs and followed up by a back and fourth between Wiley and Stormzy a spark was lit.

A lot of the younger fans (not purely from age but also an exposure standpoint) of “Grime” today really have no idea of the depth of the catalogues the OGs in the game have as many projects aren’t on Spotify or Apple Music. Wiley is one of those OGs who easily has the largest catalogue of tracks in this Grime scene with many not even on streaming platforms.

Note this mix isn’t for the “Boasty” Wiley fans and all that “Wearing My Rolex” moist stuff. This is for the GRIMEY mandem and Gyaldem, so sit back relax and the get ready for the hype.

The demand for new solo music from PND is huge with his last release Seven Days coming out two years ago and it is due time for something fresh. We know he’s been busy behind the scenes regardless with a bag of scattered features/credits on “YE” & “Scorpion” but there is no sign of the long awaited #ClubAtlantis album. PND is an artist heavily overlooked for the impact he’s made on the dark contemporary R&B sound AKA the TRAPSOUL before TRAPSOUL and also the yardie infusions he brings too.

In this mix you will get a mix bag of all those flavours.

The craving for #Chixtape5 is fiendish levels based on the slew of comments on Tory’s page we thought it’s time to kick of something fresh and work alongside DJ Delano to give you a special. This mix contains our favourite tracks from the 3 bodies of work Chixtape 2-4. In the Chixtape series (from Chixtape 2 onwards really) Tory takes old R&B hits largely from the 90s-00s and makes them SWAVEY by completely revamping beats / re-pitching or in some cases reversing vocal samples. The cadences and song structure follow the original artists did for the most part for nostalgia effect but other times it’s completely different so lock in!

For the 3rd and final “Best Of” mix of 2019 we have chosen Kanye, With 2019 being year light on iconic Hip-Hop projects from the Top Dawgs (ahem Kendrick where ya ass is at) “Jesus is King” was the first project outside of “Port of Miami 2”to really get us hyped up. We fully aware of the controversy around Ye with his views on slavery, trump etc but “Kids See Ghosts” is still one our favourite projects of 2018.
