Brought to you by Finelight Media Group, Inspiring Industry is a podcast where we share our inspiring conversations with global industry leaders.
Inspiring Industry is the new, must-listen business podcast for all things industry. By highlighting key conversations with radical pioneers and pivotal industry players across a wide range of sectors – manufacturing, construction, home building, engineering, food and drink, energy, supply chain – we seek to answer the big questions: How are CEOs shaping their respective industries against the backdrop of unprecedented market volatility? Why is company culture integral to economic prosperity as we approach Industry 4.0? What will the next five years look like? We tackle these questions and more.
In anticipation of International Women's Day, we are kicking the year off on a truly positive note by celebrating women playing pivotal roles in industry, and how two in particular are eager to redefine expectations in very different industries: manufacturing and food and hospitality.
First, we sit down with Felicity Mould, Director of People, Culture & Communications at Romo, a global leader within the interior textiles, designer fabrics, and wall coverings sector, to discuss a range of topics – from how the Tate Modern helped to inspire the company's new HQ to an intricate detailing of the creative process that sets the family-owned and -run brand apart from its competitors.
Next, we get in touch with Rachel Cope, Founder & CEO at 84 Hospitality Group, to talk over her five key areas of interest: food, booze, art, people, and music; and how liberalism and cultural progressivism are built into the very fabric of her company. Our conversation seems even more pertinent as Rachel and the 84 Hospitality team are bucking the trend in what is otherwise a typically traditionalist US state.
"Growing up, I never wanted to be the best girl on the team. I just wanted to be the best player." That's Rachel speaking, and she acutely summarizes the myriad yet interconnected topics of gender, power, and promoting diversity and wellbeing in the workplace.
Through these conversations, we begin to understand that a strong, diverse, and inspired workforce is the key to setting a company apart within a competitive – and, perhaps, an oftentimes culturally antiquated – marketplace.
How are you ensuring that the voices of women and other gender minorities are heard in your workplace? Check out our poll and get involved!
It's time to be inspired.
