With George Kell moving to Detroit, and legendary play-by-play announcer Dizzy Dean not in the mix, CBS had to come up with a new way to present its pregame show on the Game of the Week during the 1959 season. 

Joe went to his first game at Yankee Stadium in 1937.  A year later,  he saw Gehrig hit three triples and Pearson throw a no-hitter in a doubleheader against Cleveland on Aug. 27, 1938.
