If we want to build antifascist movements today, the question (and critique) of intersectionality is crucial. How to hold together a movement with different people, in different places, who address different forms of violence and fight different forms of fascism? How can we build infrastructures of solidarity in or with art? With us in the studio to discuss these questions, are three wonderful guests: Andrea Elera on behalf of the migrant cultural workers’ collective Feministas en Holanda; Maddalena Fragnito, a cultural theorist and co-author of Spermopolitica; and multidisciplinary artist Zuzanna Hertzberg, who has been involved in anti-fascist organizing in Poland for over a decade.

What is to be done when the usual economies of art — grants, markets, donors, biennials, institutions, and endless unpaid labour — reach their breaking point? In this episode, we look at interdependent economies of art and the search for alternative modes of organising artistic production amid systemic breakdown. Together with Kathrin Böhm, Marco Baravalle, and Yazan Khalili, we discuss more-than-capitalist economies, commons, alter-institutions, donor dependency, voluntary work, class privilege, and infrastructures of solidarity. Yet again, do not expect simplified responses to complex questions, but rather clarity that stems from years of practice, based on grounded reflections on Company Drinks, S.a.L.E. Docks, Radio Alhara, The Question of Funding, and Learning Palestine. Please join us as we ask whether art workers should defend institutions, abandon them, occupy them, or build something else — because after the breaking point, interdependent economy becomes a matter of survival, autonomy, and collective imagination.

Duckrabbits Talk Back is a podcast about postartistic antifascism. It gathers thinkers, activists, artists, and postartists to discuss the global rise of fascism, ask questions together, and formulate possible responses. Duckrabbits — those wonderfully ambivalent creatures that can be seen as ducks or rabbits, or both at once — guide us through the tangled web of contemporary theory, postartistic practice, and antifascist imagination. From antifascist comics to networked movements, from intersectional struggles to economies of interdependence, duckrabbits and guests map how cultural work confronts both old and newly mutating forms of authoritarianism.

In this first episode of the series, co-hosts Kuba Szreder, Aria Spinelli, and Sepp Eckenhaussen, together with producer Anielek Niemyjski, introduce comrade Duckrabbit. They share their reasons for making an antifascist art podcast today, and announce the all-star line-up of artivist guests in the upcoming episodes.

Opening discussion for Open Secret Amsterdam, internet cinema screening at OT301's Ventilator Cinema on October 30, 2025 in Amsterdam.

Organized in collaboration with THE VOID (Institute of Network Cultures) this conversation featured Onty (off screen), Dana Dawud (online), Mischa Dols, Jordi Viader Guerrero and was moderated by Persis Bekkering.

Open Secret is a traveling series of online film screenings that relies on a fluid network of terminally online artists who seek (reveal? create?) meaning in the ubiquitous and endless stream of images that saturates us daily. Intimate home videos, commercials, curated selfies, or live war footage: these are images shared online with everyone, but Open Secret proposes that we actually watch them together, physically and on the big screen.

Featuring films by Dana Dawud, Redacted Cut, Onty, Xafya Lovecraft, Daniel Stolzlederer, and Mischa Dols, the “open secret” in these films is that all these images and sounds that we encounter daily are important – that they perhaps are worth something true to us. Some films try to reveal the cinema in these images, the kinetic energy, and the shared experience, by cutting and editing them until meanings mutate into something new. Other films were created collaboratively through network connection, motivated by the original potential of (former) internet utopias.

Geert Lovink joins me in the studio for this new episode of Art in Permacrisis. Geert is a media theorist and the founder of the Institute of Network Cultures. He has a background in the Amsterdam squatting movement, he invented the notion of 'tactical media' several decades ago, and in recent years, he has focused on platform and social media critique. In this episode, we discuss his newest book, Platform Brutality. We talk about the violent turn of the tech overlords, technofeudalism, the question of tactical media today, antifascist figure design, and the special responsibility of art.
