In 2 Corinthians 4:1–6, the apostle Paul reminds us that the gospel is not a clever argument or a well-marketed ideology—it is a true and better story. A story where light breaks into darkness. A story where mercy triumphs over performance. A story where Jesus, not ourselves, is proclaimed as Lord.
In a world full of competing narratives—political, cultural, and personal—Paul calls us back to the only story that can truly save. The gospel is true because it is rooted in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. The gospel is better because it brings light to blinded hearts and hope where darkness once reigned.
As gospel people, we do not lose heart. We boldly lift up Christ, trusting that the God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” is still shining in hearts today.
