On the twenty-third of January, Juan Guaido, President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, proclaimed himself Acting President. He was almost immediately recognized by more than fifty countries around the world, the most important of which is, of course, the United States.

Theresa May, the British Prime Minister is set for a second humiliating defeat when she brings her deal back to the House of Commons, this coming Tuesday. To preempt this result, she held a speech in the town of Grimsby, a town that had voted largely for Brexit, almost three years ago. 

She’s urged the MPs to support her deal and put an end to the frustration endured by the British people the past two years and asked the EU to give some last-minute concessions to help the MPs take that step.

Michel Barnier, the EU chief negotiator, couldn’t have been more disparaging.

A formal condemnation of Antisemitism ignited a furious debate between Old House Democrats, the Centrists, and their young Liberal colleagues. The point of contention is over Representative Ilhan Omar and her recent comments critical of AIPAC and the state of Israel.

Of course, Donald Trump flunked the Hanoi negotiations. But, let's not forget, he is no master diplomat, and for him to back down, despite his desperate need for any kind a victory, is quite commendable. 

Moreover, it's way more complicated than your average negotiations. The North Korean dilemma had been simmering on the backburner for over quarter a century (three Presidents already).
