Today I have the honor and privilege of sharing the radio mic with 2 of Chicago's finest people. Join myself and Darvece Monson on the return of The Straight No Chaser show on www.intellectualradio.com with host Ria Rai Harris as we discuss the business that is kidney failure. Darvece Monson is in renal failure and through her warrior spirit has created an organization to advocate for supporting those in need of a kidney transplant. She has been featured in Ebony magazine as well as televisions You and Me show. She has been traveling the country advocating for the rights of kidney patients.

I became associated with advocacy of this movement because of the struggles of my good friends Byron Lipscomb and Rich Franklin (who recently succumbed to the disease). In my years as a lay advocate I have come to recognize some startling realities that border on the level of conspiracy. The extreme high numbers of dialysis centers in urban areas, the extreme amount of black people with kidney disease, the money that is being made from kidney failure all need to be addressed.
