Lifestyle therapy, inlcuding nutrition, exercise, and behavioral health, is crucial for improving our patient's health and wellness, and is the cornerstone of obesity management. However, many clinicians struggle with finding the time, or having the resources to offer intensive lifestyle therapy. In this week's episode, Karli speaks with Zach DeCoster, an exercise specialist and manager at Revolution Physical Therapy and Weight Loss, where they collaborate with healthcare providers to offer the lifestyle therapy components of obesity care. They discuss the importance of comprehensive care, individualizing care, overcoming barriers to care, and their visions of the future of obesity management.
Zach DeCoster is the Weight Loss Program Manager at Revolution Physical Therapy and Weight Loss , where he manages a multi-disciplinary team of physical therapists, registered dietitians, and licensed clinical social workers and therapists across 13 locations throughout the Chicagoland area. Previously, he was the Fitness Operations Manager at Elevated Living where he organized fitness programing and events in over 120 residential high rises across 12 states. He graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with minors in Biology and Anthropology, and he is an ACSM certified Exercise Physiologist, an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and an NCSF certified Personal Trainer.
