Groundlift

Frontman Ace McCormack and bassist Mike Dutko instantly became friends when they had their first rehearsal and discovered their palpable musical synergy. Leah Bluestein became the obvious choice for drums when they heard her play like a combination of Dave Grohl and Neil Peart.

The joining of their three varied and eclectic music tastes resulted in a fresh, unique sound where Ace’s love of beautiful melodies, Dutko’s adventurous Queen-like writing style, and Leah’s unbridled technical prowess all shine through. They are three musicians obsessed with their craft, allowing each other to fire on all cylinders with no holds barred. Combining tasty and inventive licks with catchy melodic hooks, surreal lyrics, shredding guitar-drum-AND bass solos, and an unfathomable rhythmic tightness, Groundlift is truly a band unlike any other.

With their hard rock inspired vibe, thick pocketed grooves, and catchy tunes that will stick in your head for days, Groundlift is a band that can get the the hard-core punks back flipping into the moshpit, the indie fans singing along, and the fellow musicians nodding in approval all at the same time.

​Beginning with hard rock and punk roots, the band  expanded their sound into funk and progressive influences on their single “Till You Run Out of Time”. Now with their latest collaboration with producer Steve Evetts, the trio has honed their sound into a mix of classic rock and roll, funk, blues, progressive rock, and Brit-pop glory.

Imagine the Beach Boys having weird, dirty, sweaty sex with Sonic Youth and their baby turns out to be an angry punk that doesn‘t give a fuck about the dos and don’ts of how to behave as a band. Johnny & the Rotten are a breath of fresh air to the yet oddly diverse and gifted music scene of Linz, Austria and probably the rest of the world. Expect the unexpected at each one of their shows but most importantly expect to be blown away by a noisy wall of sound and an overly energetic show that makes you wonder how only three dudes manage to deliver all of that.

Some rock bands carry the burden of the world on their shoulders. Others just want to party. Hathors used to be firmly parked in the former camp. No longer! Hathors have made a discovery: Life isn’t life if there isn’t also a little light and love involved. The title of their new album gives it away, “Grief, Roses and Gasoline”. Roses? Anger about all sorts of social injustice (“Grief”) and sadness about the way we abuse the environment (“Gasoline”), like guitars, bass and drums, have been a part of Hathors from the very beginning. The roses, however, they are fresh. They stand for a warmer strand of emotions, a new lust for life, that flows through the album even when it makes the walls shake.

Yur Mum are a Brazilian rock duo, formed by Anelise Kunz (bass/Vocals) and Fabio Couto (drums), based in London. The band, who've been active since 2016, have played shows around the world, sharing the stage with DIY stalwarts like Maid Of Ace, Svetlanas, Healthy Junkies, Hands Off Gretel, I-Destroy & Dream Nails, as well as modern-day legends such as New Model Army, The Adolescents, Vice Squad, Kirk Brandon, UK Subs, The Vibrators and TV Smith.

In 2021 they signed to Chapter 22 Records, home of Dawn After Dark & Balaam And The Angel, in the UK and M&O Music in France for their new album, their first as a duo, Tropical Fuzz.

In order to write their future, the couple had to first revisit their roots, which resulted in a crossover of heavy rock, with melody, groove and a punk attitude.
