Interesting ideas with Stan Hustad

One of my favorite sayings and confessions is ... When I was young and stupid I was young and stupid. And I bet you are smart enough to get the meaning behind it. And from time to time I even listened to stupid people.

But I am fortunate enough to learn fairly early not to do that as much and so I was able to achieve some fairly significant things. Now that didn't mean that I always made good choices.

Unfortunately I sometimes trusted people and it turned out to be that they could not be trusted and maybe I was stupid there. Please join me for about 15 minutes plus to remind yourself that in these chaotic challenging times there are a lot of stupid people saying stupid stuff doing stupid things. T

ry not to be one of them. And maybe I can help you. And I think you might be smart enough to try! Because you are smart!

 Yes I confess. That could be just a little bit of Clickbait to get you to listen for a while on a Friday evening as we flow into the hope for busy but restful weekend.

But let me assure you that the points I make are very serious and I believe could be very helpful if you really would like to live a transformed life.  Right now, this weekend take some time to listen to what I have to say but also take some time to think how you would like your life to be different.  Something is missing something is wrong something is disappointing something is hurtful and painful. 

I think you'll enjoy the teaching which is only TED talk length but I think it'll make you smile and perhaps actually helped change the way you do your day and if you do that on a regular basis you will indeed change and perhaps even transform your life in your world.

Remember we are not here to change the world we are here to seek to create a different world.  

As one of the early creators and inventors of the podcasting idea I have been encouraging people for many years to get involved in podcasting as a way of communicating their story and teaching the wisdom insight in truth that they can bring into the world.

Recently I have been encouraging a number of organizations that are in service to think about putting on a podcast both to keep in touch with their membership, but to also reach out and recruit new members and in many ways to demonstrate to the community what they do and how they wish to be helpful. So I started with my own local Rotary club here in Cary North Carolina. 

My presentation was to be live but due to the remnants of a hurricane the meeting was postponed and instead I gave a virtual zoom presentation. It turned out pretty well and I had a good response and I would love to share the story with you for your thought and consideration for your own service organization.

And that's about Donald Trump and the last statement is about Queen Elizabeth II... And it's national vinyl record day and so I have a little lesson about that.

And I'm trying to help you be on the radio in the video so I'm going to teach you a little bit about shirts you shouldn't wear on video, All of this is very helpful stuff and then a little bit of a encouragement to be a conscientious objector to something that people do all the time...

And then some thoughts about how so many of us actually live the UNlived life. You will indeed learn more here by accident that will it be helpful to you than most places by design.

And it's all free ... what a deal!

This will be a short 12 minutes on a Tuesday but it could be something very helpful and useful to you because I'm always trying to help you make an impact in your world and maybe on the world...

And even as you do that think about how you work and how you quit work and maybe you think about that when it comes to life and Legacy it's just not may be quitting time!

That's the title but even if you don't want to be a great broadcaster this 12 minute little coaching conversation will teach you a vital lesson that you need to know to be successful in life and business today. Indeed, everybody is wearing a secret sign and you need to know what it says and pay attention to it.

You would be surprised just how helpful it might be.

August 6, today is usually remembered as a very tragic day in human history. A terrible day indeed even though the terrible thing that was done may have been necessary.

But 21 years later a couple of foolish young kids got married.  And they are still at it and it looks like they're going to make it to the end.  Well how did that happen

What's a not so smart old man gonna say after 58 years of marriage.  Hopefully not much but maybe in just a few minutes there might be a few thoughts of wisdom inside and truth and certainly hopefully thanks to the people who made it all possible.

There are lots of questions that we seek to find the answer to when we enter the Transformation Zone... So let me take a few minutes just to introduce you to some of the questions were asking and some of the answers were seeking and most importantly what does it take for a person to really be a transformation person.?

OK today it's just about 16 minutes and I'm going to go a bit countercultural today.

I don't like casual, I don't like to dress casual, and I don't want to be casual.  Find the whole idea behind schedule difficult for me.  Yes I'm not only old school maybe to some of you I'm also an old fool... But I don't think I am.

Let me tell you why I don't want to be casual and perhaps you will discover that maybe you don't want to be casual in some cases or places too. But I challenge you to listen to my list of ways and places and ways of doing things where I don't want to be casual.

Then if you're still with me I'll give you the description for words that all start with I very much are me  and in some cases they are what I want to be.

This may make some of you glad some of you mad but I do know that you will have an opinion and maybe even a strong opinion about my story today.

 I'm sure some of you will think that I'm old-fashioned and out of date and maybe a bit of a crank.  And that may be true but there is perhaps a debate as to whether that is good or bad.

Now let's get to the point.  Today almost everybody does texting or typing an email.  I do it too but I don't like to.  And I honestly believe that in the years to come we will discover that part of our lives and the way we lived in in the first part of the 21st-century will probably be cause for some regret.

Remember that technology almost always leans toward the bad side, it is all about what is called efficiency and productivity.  Today we seldom talk about the value of humanity. I believe that one of my roles as a Christian gentleman broadcaster and communicator, which is what I want to be when I grow up, is to keep using and bending technology back to be in the service of humanity.

We are not called to serve the machine and we are not called to be run by machines. I know many of you agree with that statement but the problem is we do it anyway.

So this is a little bit of what I hope is a gracious and kind Rant where I simply ask you to think about talking to each other person-to-person. face-to-face, ear to ear, and where we actually hear one another.
