Publisher's Summary:
Linden Meadows doesn't back down from anyone, especially if her family's involved. So when her little brother's new hockey coach benches him in the middle of a game, Linden lets him have it. She also notices that the coach is way hotter than she expects, but Linden won't let herself get burned by another athlete. Been there, done that - and had a kid at 17 to show for it.
When Jason Taylor isn't taking abuse from hockey moms, he's patrolling the streets as a member of the Bridgeland PD. After Jason pulls Linden over for speeding, he begins to see that there's more to her than a big mouth...or a lead foot. Their chemistry leads to good company, intense conversation, and an intimacy that pushes beyond the boundaries of friendship. And yet Linden's decision to keep her now three-year-old son, Holden, is a painful reminder to Jason that his own mother gave him up for adoption.
Linden's sure that she's found the man to round out their family. But when Holden's deadbeat dad forces his way back into the picture, Jason starts to back off. He needs time - to heal, to grow, and to love with all his heart.
Contains mature themes.

Another nice Pilots Hockey Novel
The Pilots Hockey series by Sophia Henry is one I look forward to each time a new book comes out.
This time, the main character is not a hockey player though. Jason played hockey in high school and now he coaches a kids team. He was introduced earlier in the series and is the brother of Auden (from book 1) and adopted brother of Landon (from book 2). Indie, the female lead, is a 20 year old single mother whose brother is on Jason's team. Jason is also a cop and pulls her over for speeding, thus starting their flirtation.
The supporting cast, especially Jason's family, were really fun to read about. I wish there had been more of them in Landon's book after reading this one. Tim, Indie's baby daddy, was a jerk but the rest of the supporting cast was great.
It's a nice story about how one man learns how to be a dad, even though he doesn't have to be. I'm looking forward to more books in this series.
Love this series!!!
I loved this book so much! I think this author gets better with every book she writes and I have read every one so far. I was hoping that we would get Jason's story after meeting him in previous books and I was not disappointed in his story. This author did a great job tying Jason and Linden together and how their past shapes their future. Linden is a much older soul than she is in age. She got pregnant in high school and chose to keep her baby rather than abortion or adoption. Jason is Linden's brother's hockey coach and their first interaction is her yelling at him for being tough on her brother. When they are first getting to know each other, Jason doesn't realize Linden is a single mom who chose to keep her baby instead of giving him up for adoption like Jason's mom did. When he finds out and they talk, he gets a whole new perspective on the situation. But staying in this town wasn't in his long term plans. Do these two have what it takes to make him reconsider?
Another hit for Sophia!
I adored this story about Jason and Indie and couldn't put it down once I started it. I always love how the characters are so relatable and seem like family or friends you know.
