In this episode we listen to members of the Arctic Circle Mission Council on Global Arctic, discuss the role of international, functional cooperation as means to increase security of the Arctic region. 

The discussants are:

• Prof. Lassi Heininen, Chair of the GlobalArctic Mission Council and Professor Emeritus at the University of Lapland
• Dr. Heather Exner-Pirot, Managing Editor of Arctic Yearbook and member of the GlobalArctic Mission Council.

The dialogue originally took place as the first Arctic Circle Webcast Session in April 2022 and was open for questions from the global audience.

Arctic Circle is the largest network of international dialogue and cooperation on the future of the Arctic. It is an open democratic platform with participation from governments, organizations, corporations, universities, think tanks, environmental associations, Indigenous communities, concerned citizens, and others interested in the development of the Arctic and its consequences for the future of the globe.
