IGA are the creative partnership of Ryan Fisher and Mateus Casagrande. Ryan, a South African native with his his roots in Jazz, Funk, Techno, Electro, House and Acid. His major influences are the colourful, creative DJ sets and sound of London underground legend Murf Woram.
Mateus, from Brazil has his foundations in native folk music, blues, bossa nova, rock and RnB. His influences both musically and production wise include Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix and Nile Rodgers. This Afro-American combo unite to bring their fresh, unconventional and uplifting sounds to you as International Groove Assembly.
The drifting currents of underground music, or perhaps an inevitable convergence of tides between Verdant Recording's Andy and IGA in a South London smoking area was fateful. Sooner or later No Gossip, Just Concepts emerged from mutual encouragement and appreciation. The release needs to be listened as a complete project but the download includes fresh remixes by Merle and KVLO.
A departure from the typical sound of VR releases manifested a side project, and it is intended that further left field dispatches will follow on through Verdant Trips.
