José Geraldo de Souza Castro, known worldwide as Zé do Pedal, is a 69-year-old Brazilian journalist, activist, and former Lions Club District Governor. For over 45 years, he has dedicated his life to extraordinary charity journeys across the globe to help vulnerable children. He is currently crossing Europe in a human-powered pedal go-kart as part of his 7,780-kilometer "Kilometers of Hope" expedition. Starting at Nordkapp, Norway, and heading to Lisbon, Portugal, he has already covered over 4,200 kilometers through six countries.
