In this last episode of our podcast series, it is time to look at some potential solutions to the problems related to international regime complexity. Together with Aneta Spendzharova, Associate Professor of Political Science at FASoS, and Maheen Khan, lecturer at the Maastricht Sustainability Institute, we discuss issues such as underrepresentation, accessibility, and inclusion. How can we tap into the knowledge of marginalised voices? And how to deal with a possible increase in complexity? We will also briefly reflect on how the podcasting experience has been for us.

In this episode we look closer at the climate change regime complex. Our guest is Maheen Khan, a lecturer at Maastricht Sustainability Institute. We discuss the role of different actors in the climate change regime complex. Who has access to the different policy fora? Who produces knowledge related to climate change? And what kind of implications does this have for our ability to combat climate change and ensure climate justice?

In this first episode, we introduce regime complexity from “two and a half” angles. We discuss what the concept means and how we ended up in a world governed by regime complexes. How has academia made sense of regime complexity using International Relations theory and what problems does regime complexity create?
