Uluru Dialogue Senior Engagement Officer Eddie Synot said Voice supporters have been more than clear and open about the gifting of the song to the campaign.

"I think we'd be naive to pretend that politics isn't a part of this," Synot said.

"I do commend people [like John Farnham] who have influence and use it to support things they believe in."
