In today's episode I get the opportunity to share with you a discussion I had with my lawyer Mr. Bruce Karey regarding his perspective on Wonder and what Wonder means to him as a lawyer and a guitarist.
Introduction by: Heartleigh D. Godoy
Introduction Background Music: Guitar Solo by today's interview guest Bruce L. Karey
Fun Fact: In episode # 14 of the Wake Up With Wonder Podcast I discussed my relationship with Bruce over the past 2 years and how no matter how hard I tried I could not create connection between us. Also in episode # 14 I share the exercise I did and the tools I used to finally be able to connect with Bruce and ultimately start off our friendship.
Bruce shared how his ability to always remain curious about people is what has allowed him to never lose his sense of Wonder. Bruce talks about the vast things he wonders about people and he shares personal examples of how Wonder is the ultimate tool for seeking out and creating connection in his life. He also discusses how sometimes in the courtroom certain rulings leave him in a state of Wonderment.
In the middle of the episode Bruce and I discuss the 95% rule and how we can apply this 95% rule to our lives to constantly be curious and create more Wonder in our relationships with ourselves, other people and the world.
At the end of the episode Bruce and I talk about his mother and how in her later years of life she became sick with a disease that deteriorated her health and how regardless of how she acted Bruce believed the core of her was still the same. People would Wonder why Bruce treated her the way he did and he explains how the heart to heart conversations he had with his mom proved to him she was still the same human being he once knew even in her old age.
