Commissioner Hazelle Rogers has a 3-decade long political record having been elected to the Lauderdale Lakes City Commission in 1996, she has also served 4 terms in the Florida House of Representatives and 1 ½ terms as Mayor of Lauderdale Lakes. During her 2nd term as Mayor, she ran for District 9 Commissioner for the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, and she was successful in her bid. She is the recipient of many awards, and in 2021 she was also she was awarded Jamaica’s Order of Distinction.
