Dr. Ivelaw Lloyd Griffith is a political scientist and a Caribbean policy expert. He has published more than eight books and more than 50 scholarly articles. His research encompasses everything from Caribbean national security to drugs and crime issues. A past president of the Caribbean Studies Association, Dr. Griffith is also a fellow with the Caribbean Policy Consortium and Global Americans. He has been a consultant to the Commonwealth Secretariat, USAID, Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and he has testified before the U.S. Congress on Caribbean national security issues. His interview with Caribbean Today focuses on the unresolved border dispute between Guyana and Venezuela and its historical origins.

Caribbean Today is happy to introduce Dr. Doniel Bowen, a recent graduate from Anhui Medical University in China and was the valedictorian of the class of 2023. While in China Dr. Bowen specialized in Clinical Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Bowen didn’t learn to read until the age of ten, but this did not deter him from pursuing his education. In this interview, we hope to give more insight into his unique journey into medicine and how he intends to impact his community back home in Jamaica.

The Caribbean Today team would like to introduce Ludlow Bailey, an art curator, broker, and advisor. Mr. Bailey is the managing director of CADA, the acronym for Contemporary African Diaspora Art. He specializes in promoting the visual art culture of the African diaspora. He is an avid art advisor for some of the most prestigious museums and art galleries in Europe, the United States, Africa and the Caribbean. During this interview, Mr. Bailey will share insights into his significant role in the renowned Art Basel Miami Beach art exhibition, an annual event that is attended by art enthusiasts from around the globe.

Breanne Mc Ivor is an award-winning writer from Trinidad and Tobago. She holds degrees in English from the universities of Cambridge and Edinburgh and has a certificate in Advanced Professional Makeup Artistry. Her short story collection, Where There Are Monsters, was published in 2019. Today, the Caribbean Today team is excited to meet with her to talk about her debut novel, The God of Good Looks, which was released earlier this summer.
