THE LBD DAILY. Providing raw, authentic content from the intertwining worlds of fashion and tech.

Marina interviewed Rachael Lindsay from Glass Door. Glass Door is Homeless Charity, supporting women and men around London. Their vision is a world where no one has to sleep on the streets of London. About 170 individuals sleep in a Glass Door shelter every night in winter, making Glass Door London’s largest emergency winter night shelter network. Glass Door is able to do this thanks to partnerships with churches across West and South West London.

Rachael joined Glass Door in October 2019 as the communications officer. After working with young refugees from Pakistan and Afghanistan for the British Red Cross, she completed a Master's in South Asian Studies at Oxford University.

In this episode, we discussed 1. Glass Door, 2. How Covid-19 has changed their daily operations, 3 What are their main concerns at the moment? 4. For those still sleeping on the street, what can we do as a community to help? 5. What are their plans post-Covid? 6. What can we do to help and support their amazing initiative?

To find out more visit www.glassdoor.org.uk and take a look at their emergency appeal, www.glassdoor.org.uk/covid-19-emergency-appeal.

As mentioned in the podcast, streetlink is the platform where you can flag someone who is homeless to the authorities (only if you have asked their permission to do so).
